C7P Tractor

  • Header89
The C7P Tractor was manufactured in Poland from 1935 based on the 7TP Chassis (which was a modified Vickers 6T built under license in Poland) and had many uses throughout its service they were used for towing large artillery units, as recovery vehicles and also used by railway engineer units.

The kit itself went together without too many problems the biggest one being the rear plate that needed some reconstruction to look more like the actual vehicle and replacement individual link tracks by RPM for the one piece rubber band ones that were supplied, also the tools and some clasps were replaced from the spares box, the kit provides a full interior and transmission.

I used Tamiya acrylics for the basecoat followed by acrylic craft paints to add chips and wear and tear once this was done I proceeded to weather the model using artists oil paints in the manner of many different coloured washes and filters with a final touch of pigments at the end to portray dust and dirt.

My overall opinion of the kit is positive but don’t expect a Tamiya fit or the detail of a Dragon kit it does take work and some things will need adding if you want that extra bit of detail but all in all it was a very enjoyable build of a rarely seen vehicle that was a nice change of pace for me.

Rudi, Mirage (a Polish company) do one of these, as a captured tractor, complete with German decals. It looks like a nice kit, with a pretty good interior and all. I bought mine years ago, and it has been in the pile of 'next project to be started' ever since... the thing that held me back was the pretty poor rubber band tracks. Having seen Ron's model, I may just splash out on an AM set of indy links..

An excellent job on that kit Ron. Like some others, I also have that kit in the stash, along with the ARMO Interior, ARMO running gear, and Fruil metal tracks, and several PART photo etched sets for it. So many kits, so little time.

Yes, great job Ron. Yet another example of something I have in the pile that soemone else builds that inspires me to get off my...and build my copy. Why is it we all seem to have the same issue; too many kits, too little time? IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?! Can someone say, O-C-D...

ron, awesome job!!!!!!!!!!! 1) Can you confirm manufacturer of the kit? Is Heer correct? 2) How did you do the seats? They look exactly like wood, I've never seen the effect done better. This reminds me of the Chariot from lost in space. Also very nice job on the paint and general weathering. 3) What color green was used? Thanks, and again, wonderful job! You've inspired a bunch of us.

Thank you Henk after being out of commission for several weeks now sick it was a nice suprise to come back to, thank you all for the comments it is a nice kit to build if you have dabbled with some of the eastern bloc produced kits before but if not be prepared for a little extra cleanup and some filling but this is definatly one of the better ones so i found it very much worth the effort It was the Mirage kit here is a pic of the box. Hi Bill the seats were first painted on off white colour (i used acrylic craft paint "stone") then using a mix of vandyke brown, yellow ochre and burnt sienna oil paint i streak the oil paint down the seats with a old stiff brush creating the grain effect, i just kept working it until it suited me, as for the green i cant say for sure but it was Tamiya acrylics and a mix of olive drab and yellow i think but the colour was then changed a lot during the filters and washes. Ron.

here's another flavor of the same thing that's come close to being built several times only to be superseded by something else. seeing your build is inspiring!
