I CAN’T STOP AT ONE CENT!
At the end of the day, I suppose building an accurate model of The Very Diabolical is the end of an aspiration that began back in 1991 when I came by my first photo of the tank.
Alas, I have been bitten by a bug - there are now a stack of AFV Club Centurions on the shelf, and I already have a 1968 version – which was almost “out of the box - painted, marked and sitting on its wheels, which I plan to depict in the dusty dry season for something different.
For me, replacement of the kit tyres with the resin Firestorm items is not negotiable and a mantlet cover is also needed, but apart from that these kits go together like a dream and there are so many interesting Cents which can be built from battlefields the world over during a service life that exceeds half a Century and endures to this day. That said, I reckon I’ll be fully occupied turning out Aussie Cents for a few years to come ... I just have to do a dozer in Vietnam, one complete with side skirts and headlights as they arrived wouldn’t be much of a challenge, then I could do one in the two colour camouflage applied in Australia when the tanks were retired in 1976 ...

Great job Mick, this is one beauty of a Centurion. I watched your build up with great interest, loved the techniques you used and really enjoyed watching this one come together. I'd give my eye teeth to see this one in person.
Well done sir, well done.....
