Many thanks to you both for making these photos available to us! I have the Accurate Armor kit in my stash, not sure if it's a MkI or II. Look the same from memory.
Is that shade of green in the photos "deep bronze green"? The official production line color? Or is it a museum 'close enough' attempt?
How were the schemes and colors accomplished for N.A. theater? At factory or in theater?
Thanks again guys!
Cheers!

Hi rick,
Don't know about the source of the paint, but that colour is what I associate with deep bronze green, although it is also similar if not the same to post war green, I would have to check up
re N Africa, if the vehicle had beeen designated for that theatre of operations it would have been painted in the factory either by hand or spray. If however, it was a NWE designation, that got re-directed then it would have been painted on arrival by the WKSP.
Hope that help a bit.

As I understand it from talking to staff at Bovington it use to be a case of close enough, they now take a lot of time and effort to get the paint as accurate as possible. You will need to remember that the colours will be closest to out of the factory rather than what they would like after being in the field for a while. The problem with that is that I have no idea what is recent and what isn't.
