M3A1 Scout Car

Beautiful shots their Alan, makes me feel like I have a chance at doing justice to a certain 1/35 kit...

This one looks fine. The M3 is actually a difficult vehicle to find in a accurate condition. In the States, they are all 'authentic', in Europe, they are frequently less so. The reason for this is that many M3s in Europe are are ex-French. When they sold them off, they were torched into three parts - therefore making sure (they hoped) they weren't illegaly sold on - the military threat an M3 would create would be extraordinary Therefore, many M3s in Europe have rebuilt bodies which are of mild steel rather than armor plate. It's like the M3 H/T - many of those in Britain are converted M5 or M9s. Those in the States are the REAL deal...

Truth... and forgive me for being a pedantic nit picking rivet counter but this (and the model in 1/35) is an M3A1, not an M3. This is an M3:
