introduction
The kit is attractively boxed and presented. Apparently the first kit of the Hornisse in this scale and from first look at the contents, probably the last, since any more would probably be inferior to this one. There are 191 parts. 172 of which are in grey styrene, 17 etched brass on a small fret, 2 in tan DS 100 plastic (the tracks); price US $10.95box contents
On first look the parts look immaculately moulded, although I did notice a small amount of flash on the front of the hull when I cam to build it. The instructions looked easy to follow with a full colour painting guide for six variations included. Dragon include their now familiar parts map with parts not to be used marked with a blue overlay. Although I did find during the build that all of these parts were actually called for during the building, so let’s hope there is not anybody out there who discards the ‘parts not to be used’ before beginning the build eh?Comments
Hey Vinnie
Nice work on the Hornisse, she looks very convincing..
It really is hard to believe a 1/72 kit can have such an amount of detail!!
Interesting article to read, and it makes me wanna go out and buy one...

Thanks Bjorn. Go get one, and remember to say you saw it here! I mean it, it's a great little kit, I'll definately be building more versions!

Nice review and build. At what point did you paint the roadwheels? I am about to start the Stug IV and it uses the same seperate hubs.

Looks like 1/72 and you get along just fine Vinnie - well done. Give one of the 1/48 kits a go - they are even more fun!

Great build Vinnie, and a nice articel. I echo your comments about these 1:72 kits which are so well detailed that you have to keep remembering yourself that it's not 1:35. I have just finished the UM 1:72 T-26-4, and I was tempted to try some more. Your articel has convinced me, Dragon will be a imminent purchase for me..
I think I might start building 1;72 if I want to build something ordinairy, and stick to 1:35 for the 'weird and wonderfull' which I tend to find on eBay..
Cheers
Henk
