Jagpanzer IV L70

  • move
This scene depicts a late war Jadpanzer IV L70 in 1945. The commander is in conversation with an infantry officer while a wounded soldier looks on. They are examining a disabled jeep while another soldier follows. The Jagdpanzer is a Dragon kit and the jeep is a Tamiya kit. The figures are also from Dragon. Dan used Tamiya paint for all of the kits.

The decals have silvered badly. This is caused by air trapped beneath the decal and the flat finish paint. It's best to apply decals to gloss finishes, overcoat with clear, and finish with clear flat after you complete the weathering. You may be able to fix this, though. Apply some decal solvent (like Solvaset), and it may help the decals snuggle down into the paint. If any shiny bubbles remain, prick them with a pin, and reapply the solvent. Once dry, coat the whole area with clear flat, and it should resolve the problem.

I saw that on the right side and used a bit more solvent. It's an older kit and the age of the decal may have been a factor.
