Finishing the Job |
The Topolino and figures were CA glued onto the base.
Some modelers like to pin their figures to the base, but I don’t find it
necessary; the super glue holds quite well and I don’t plan on moving the
diorama around a whole lot. Once the various pieces were firmly in place, I
gave them the pastel dust treatment. The Topolino was dusted as previously
described and dust was applied to the figures’ footwear, as well. No sealing
dull coat is necessary, since there will be no reason to touch the figures
anymore. I do not recommend sealing the pastel dust anyway, as it alters the
colour and, with some lighter colours, can make the dust almost completely
disappear.
Even making such a small diorama as this one takes a lot of time and
requires the use of many techniques. Hopefully some of the ones I have
described here will help the beginner and even, perhaps, the expert with
their own modeling. I have found, however, that the most important qualities
are the abilities to improvise and to have fun. Copyright ©2002 - Text and
