I had this kit sitting in the closet too long, so I decided to give it a whirl.
Anyway - She's almost ready for paint. The etch is Eduard, the tracks are Fruil, and the Zim is Cavalier. In the pictures you will notice that I have already treated the tracks with "Blacken-it". Basically the tracks will look pretty much the same as they do now when the model is fully painted. The spare links that will be mounted on the turret sides were not left in the "blacken-it" solution as long, so they will look alot fresher.
I plan on making this a rather new, undamaged vehicle. Hense the minimal fender damage, etc. Basically this is gonna be a three tone camo jobbie with a holatta dust. I still have no idea what unit I'm going to mark it in.
Of course - it goes without saying - your input is greatly appreciated. If I messed something up, please point it out so I can learn Blaze away my friends.... I'm not afraid of shots across the bow....
MWAAAaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha... 'cough'.. 'gag'... haha
Of course - I like nice cuddly things said as well.. hehe
May scorpions never crawl into your trousers...

Jeff,
I too had this one in my stash for far too LONG! This is a nice kit to build and no ugly surprises. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress of this beast. I will subscribe to this thread.
Cheers
Dave

Looks great. No harsh criticism. It really needs a nice coat of paint to bring out the wonderful job you did building it. I suggest Archer for turret numbers. They seem to work well with zimmerit on my last tiger.

*** UPDATE ***
I have made some progress on this beast. Slowly but surely it's taking shape. Man, it seems like I work extremely slow.. lol
I sure do daddle around....
At any rate - I primed it black and have the base dunklegelb coat on it now. I have much more to do, but at least it is moving forward.. .hehe

Hi JR
You are off to a great start, a very nice clean build to start with all the goodies, and it seems you are on your way to a superb paint job. I am looking forward to the finished product.
I have only started modelling this year and this kit was my first model ever. I really enjoyed it and it has caused me to become addicted to this hobby. I'm well on my way to completing my second model (Tamiya M4A3 Sherman 75mm for my son) and I already have 5 more kits waiting. I'm loving it, I'm not so sure how the wife feels about it though.

Look pretty darn good.
Can't wait to see the thing finished.
Now this is the time to shamelessly post mine.
