Hi guys,

well I finished my second Sherman for my diorama. It's the Tamiya 1/48 M4A1 Sherman. The driver is my second figure I've ever painted. I also replaced the hedges with Seafoam. Hope you guys like it. Sorry for the pics.

Daniel-

I really don't know much about Shermans, but yours looks really nice! The driver is especially well done - I love the shading you did around his facial features.

My only suggestion (and it is a really minor nit pick ) is to maybe use a really dilute brown or black wash on the grass in places. As it is, the green color looks really consistent, kinda like a carpet. If you mix up a really dilute wash, and dab it on in various patches, it will break up the single color look and add more depth to the scene. You could even use several different earth tone shades. Just my opinion... take it for what it's worth... hehe

Regards-
Jeff

Hi Daniel,

Nice work on the tank. Not up to speed on American Vehicles but I think this looks like and excellent build. Nice one. The dio will be very good too when you get it done.

On the pistol port on the LHS this should be blended into the turret and not sitting proud. Nice jon on the stowage.

Is the driver a little high?

The whels look quite muddy, you should spash a tiny bit up onto the side bars.

Great work.

Hi guys,

@Jeff: I'm glad you like it. I'm planning on putting some variation in the grass so it won't change.

@Al: Thanks Al. Yeah I know about the pistol port and it's been fixed. I don't know if the driver is sitting too high. But the pics do make him look like he's sitting high. And last I put some mud on the side bars.

Thanks guys and glad you like it.

looking good, you should post these on the benelux kitmaker site too!
I remember your thread about this project some time ago over there.

what i was thinking is that you could mayby do a pinwash around edges and details, to give it a nice extra shade. a bit of drybrushing here and there wouldn't hurt either, give it that nice worn out look.

i really love the figure you painted. did you use oil paints? i'm glad to see that you managed to paint a good figure, sometimes a poorly painted face can ruin a gorgeous tank. but you did a great job and it adds alot of realism to your tank! good work!

Looks pretty good.

A few of things I did see were.

No handle for pick maul at least did not see nothing painted wood color.

I think it is the bar above the Tanker bar

Best set is from Formations.

Decals try Dry transfers on the next one after a nice coat of Future floor polish.

Some parts look like they have no paint on them.

Have not built a Sherman per say but have and will finish an M-10.

Drill out front barrel on Mantle.

That is all.

Good job on a nice tank.

Need to add one of these to the build pile.

But overall best place for parts for Sherman tanks is Formations.
