Hi,
Well, this kit is surely a beaut and the most fun I have ever tried (along with Tamiya's Jeep). It fits together like a glove and looks awsome. No problems with gaps or the such. There're lots of pin marks though but most of them were very esay to remove (to this point anyway)
Let me know what you think,
Thanks

I want one. Be sure to post pics when you paint it. Looks pretty good so far.

Nice neat build Rob.Sometimes its nice to get an easy build with less parts. Have you an AM set for this or have Tamiya a zoom set for the grills?

Thanks guys!
Frank, well, no, actually. I planned on a completely OOB project on this one. Just wanted to relax and build something, you know (been kind of too frustrated with superdetailing an Italeri Opel Blitz, which is actually not going very good). Maybe next time (if I ever pick another one of these beauts). I was, however, thinking of getting the PE grills for this but then decided to go with the mesh. The mesh is not 100% accurate but I think once painted it will look ok.
Thanks for the comments

As I recall, if you compare the PE fret for the Steyr with wartime photos, it isn't accurate anyway on the grilles, so you did good to avoid it Rob! I've done a couple of these, they are nice little kits IMHO. Looking good mate!

Great to know that Steve!! Now I feel much better knowing that I went with the mesh. I'll tell you, I had some concerns initially about the mesh, and even had some initial problems installing it (didn't know what glue use since CA and others weren't working) until someone recommended that I use regular white (read Elmer's). This work perfectly and I think overall the mesh looks quite convincing.
Thanks again for the info...

Rob, check out the Lion Roar pe set for your next Steyr, only one fret so not too over complicated, just adds that little bit extra...

I had been thinking about doing a Stery on an up coming project. Seems to be a nice kit thus far. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the heads up on this set Mark. I knew someone made a set for this but wasn't sure. Wasn't this the same set Vinnie used for his Steyr?

No problem Jim. It really is a nice looking kit and very easy to build. I may even get another one of these myself. The only difficult part for me was getting the mesh pieces in place. Other than that, a breeze...

Well, the Steyr is getting closer to be completely assembled. I added a few more details since my first post and will be, hopefully, taking it to the paint booth sometime next week. Wished I could build it faster but just too many things going on at the moment (graduate school, work, etc) that prevent me from getting to the finish line.
Anyway, as mentioned, I've added a few more details (headlights, front guard, jerry can tray, winddshield frame, etc) so now just a few pieces remaining to be attached.
Hope you like it. Please let me know if there is something I need to change/modify.
Thanks,
Rob
