Saw this kit listed on an online store: ICM 35111 1/35 SOVIET 2S19 MSTA 152MM SELF PROPELLED HOWITZER with a T.B.A. price
Anyone can shed some light on this one? I would really really like to have this one on my shelves.

WOW! Oh my goodness! That would be incredible! And much cheaper than future panzershop and minairm releases...........
Very curious about the final results.
But didnīt they announced that same vehicle in 2002 or so??
Thanks for sharing!
Best regards,
Andy T.

This kit had been announced back in 2000 along with Panther D and bunch of WWII fighters in 1/48. There has not been a word on development since and it's no longer on ICM web site's catalogue. Well, they did release all the Panthers they promised along with ME-109 series last year, so there might be hope after all.

With the recent buyout activities between ICM and Alanger, I would not think this kit will see the light of day.
BUT...Alanger are a bit more agressive on Russian Subjects. They just released a 1/350 Delta IV and Typhoon class subs...not your run-of-the-mill releases. They MAY want to pick this kit up, shake off the dust, and maybe look at releasing it. But I would not even think twice about that unless they announce it under the Alanger label.
Besides, first we need a really good T-80 base kit...

MSTA base is not same as T-80. It is longer, and distance between wheels distinguish from T-80.
About model, I think that release wiil be in 2008 or 2009, because Studebaker was announsed in december2006, but till now there are no this model in shops

Hello Alex,
I know the 2S19 is on a longer T-80 chassis but ICM/whoever would still have to come up with the suspension and general chassis of, essentially, a T-80. And we do need a GOOD T-80 kit on the market more than a 2S19...yes, I just said that.
And as I said, I do not think this kit will see light under ICM's name...
