Hello,
I started a new project with some new challenges
I;m building Dragon's Panther Ausf A Late (art.nr 6244).
This kit has extra PE roosters and an alu-barrel. I ordered some PE-side skirts from Voyager, ATAK zimmerit and Friul tracks and this will be my first project with lots of after-market stuff.
I started building a couple of days ago and the story so far:
Suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice work so far Patrick. I think you have nailed the sag in the tracks, they really look good! The bosche headlight looks to be leaning back just a little, you might want to straighten it up. Also don't forget to putty the seam between the front and side zimmerit pieces.
Cheers,
Mike

Today I started on the turret. A little bit more work then I expected.
The Alu-barrel had no pin at the end. So the barrel could not move verticaly. I had to glue the whole thing to the turret but that was not something I wanted to do.
The styrene version had a pin at the end but I definitly wanted to use the aluminium one.
With some strips of evergreen I made my own connection. A simple solution but a lot of sanding, try if it fits, sand a little more. etc. etc.
But it works and this is the result so far.
Suggestions are welcome of course.
Thnx for watching.

The model is almost done. Some putty to fill up the gaps, a tow-cable and an antenna and it's ready for primer.
Does anyone have an idea how I can straighten the headlight without breaking it?
Any comments on the photo's>

Looking great so far Patrick. Nice clean build.
Ive never tried this, but it would be my original thought and would probably have went with it,in the same position .... brush on a little plastic cement again ... the thinner type and when soft, move it out. While soft it shouldn´t snap. Maybe have a little piece of balsa ready to slip in behind it to hold while setting again.

Time for some paint!
Last week I primed the tank and its all grey now.
This morning I started with pre-shading the panel lines.
After that I painted the tank with Vallejo Air Dark Yellow and some Tank Green (15:1). I added the green so the first layer will be a little darker then te next.
Tomorrow I wanna finish the basic layer. Just Vallejo Air Dark Yellow. After that I wanna highlight between the panel lines adding some Buff to the basic layer.
That's it for now. See you later.
