Edit: I took a bunch more close ups this morning when the light was slightly better which are further down the thread. Al
Hi Guys,
Well I think this is about done. I've opted for a less is more stowage layout but want to add 2 small bedrolls to the RHS camo net to off set the green on green,
Radio still to fit when it arrives and a suitable figure to think about.
Vehicle represents an AVRE from 5th Assault Regiment RE, 79th Armoured Div. These chaps landed in support of the Canadiona on Juno Beach, 5th Assault landing on Nan Red/White.
Comments welcome.
Cheers
Al

Looks great Alan!
I will definately save the photos in my desktops gallery!!
Man, I still can't get over how high that turret sits above the hull deck!!!
What a target that must of made for German PaK gunners!!!!
Are you planning to add it to a diorama
Keep up the good work!!!!!
Cheers

Hi John,
Yip with the short range of the spigot mtr, a lot got the chop by German AT gunners, but that doesn't seem to have detered the others.
I have a plan for it on a dio but that's some ways in the future, I'm building up the kits and figures for it.
Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers

Nice work Alan! The pictures are really sharp and in focus showing the fantastic job you did on this one!
I have to ask this, what kit is it? I've never seen this one before.

Hi Jeff,
Many thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated as I thoguh for a moment I was posting to myself lol, lol.
This is a conversion of the Tamiya Churchil Mk VII into a Mk 4 AVRE. The conversion sets are form Resicast. The basic set gives you what you need to make an early AVRE, turret side fittings and new front hull, so a bit of cutting is required. The Deep Wading kit is another Resicst set, both of which give an early version and I had to scrounge up a replacement Blanket box and exhausts for the D Day version which were kindly provided by Gordon at Cromwell Models. Also needed a set of rear boggies as they were carried by most of the vehicles that landed on D Day, although they were removed very shortly after and for those I thank Ian from Friendship Models.
I also use some PE From Eduard which is unusual for me, but does provide some things that are obviously absent otherwise.
Decals are a mix of Fingerprint Design and Archers.
It was a lot of fun to do. I've just the decal on the turret top to do and I think that's about it until it's mounted in a dio.
Thanks for looking and glad you enjoyed the pics.
Cheers

Great job on the model mate, love the chalk markings on the sides.
What is the white object in the barrel as I find my eyes drawn to it which I feel is a distraction from the model.
Cheers

Hi Robbo,
Glad you like it and thanks for looking. The object in the barrel is a 'dustbin' , the explosive charge that was fired from the spigot mtr, I might tone it down a bit then so thanks for you comments.

Hi Guys,
Added the star, first time I've used Micro Set/Sol. Although the pic doesn't show it very well it's settled the decal down quite nicely into the writing.
Only thing I can think off is that with all the large flat surfaces is a foot print or two
