I am sorry, here is me again....did some painting on the Jagdpanther, now the decal is on, and most of the painting is done, waiting for wash, and other weathering stuff...
I wanna do a JP that reflects the desperate days of the reich hence the Red Oxide base coat

Dave, very nice.
Excellent freehand airbrush work.
I like the wheels but the tracks should be slightly browner as they had a high manganese content.
I look forward to seeing my pait chipping method used on it...

Look good Dave, but if you want a comment, here it come:
If you did that on "free hand" I like it but if you want more straight lines, use tape between the camo (beige part).

He did mean to do it free hand. A hard edged paint job would inapproproate for this Jagdpanther. As it shows a late Jagdpanther, an airgun was probably used to quickly spray the tank destroyer to break up the shape...

Very nice looking piece of work, Dave. How do you plan on toning down the camo a bit? I might spray over the whole thing lightly with thinned down brown or even grey paint. Of course, you could drybrush it, but I know your feelings on that Anyway, I just can't wait to see it weathered. Good job on the decals by the way, especially the one on the back. It can be tough making them look good over top of a bump like that.

Nice piece Dave. I agree on the tracks that ion my view should be a bit more red-brownish. Cannot wait to see its progress...

Guys, thank you fro your kind words... I will be able to put up the finished pictures tomorrow...hope you will like it too.
Lord Aragon,
Obe is absolutely correct, I meant to do it freehand, this is a camo scheme that used in later war period, when the tank roll out of factory sometimes just in red oxide, and the crews just put a disruptive camo strip pattern in the field sometimes. If I go with a geometric stripe then I will definitely using masking tapes.
Lord Folgore,
Yeah, I definitely going to tone down the camo, I already applied a overall wash, and put on flat coat, I will later on spray buff on it this should do the trick.
Lord Obe and Lord Scoccia,
I will see what I can do to give a more brown color to the tracks....thanks for the suggestion, makes a lot sense!

Dave, I cannot wait to see you try the paint chipping method I "taught" you.
oooooo, I will be very proud I am sure.
The camo scheme you used seems to be very suitable for that period of the war. I was looking at some reference and it seems that Panthers and Jagdpanthers all had the broad, diagonal stripes, nice chioce.
Later,
Andrew

You cunning little Lord you..........Very nice. The red oxide looks very accurate as does the dunkelgelb and green.
Take care when washing this baby or you will lose the accuracy of the colours.
Nice 1

Dave, one thing you could try to make the tracks more brown would be a pastel wash. Grind some pastel chalk into a container and add some paint thinner (or even water) to it. Brush this over the tracks and the dust should build up in recesses, etc. It can look pretty neat.

Another neat trick, I will definitely do it, so is this more like red brown, or just brown?

It depends what you want it to represent. For rust, of course, you would use a red brown, but if you'd rather have it look like dirt, dust, or mud, go with a colour similar to whatever the ground is like in your tank destroyer's area of operations.

Brother Hong Kong Dude
Your usual fine work.
Following the process of this Jag build has been enjoyable for all of us here at Armorama.
Earlier pics showed the clean precise pe skills you have, the great looking tube, and now the start of the most fun part ---the painting. Just a great job on your part Dave showing the progression of this model. The pics have been clear and informative.
Thanks pal.
