Hi there
Some more work on my Sherman.

I have added a bow.30cal cover, and one for the muzzle.
Muzzle hood cover made from putty. Looking back, it is probably a waste of a aluminium barrel!

Putty again for the bow.30cal canvas foulweather hood. Tried to replicate the press studs around the edge... Made the raised welds on the hull from plastic strip melted with Revell cement and then the pattern pressed in with the back of a #11 blade... Removed the solid vent cover between the hatches, and scratched a newy out of plastic sheet.

You can probably get the picture that it will be set in foul weather conditions hence the hoods for the bow .30cal and the muzzle...
My aim is a muddy/snowy diorama; small enough to not overpower the tank for the viewer, large enough to portray the conditions it is in...
Cheers

Formations do a set for the drivers hatch

Isn't that for the small hatch variant though, not sure if it would fit the large hatch.

Thanks Al
And yep, Formations do the fold-up canvas driver's hood, which even has a windscreen wiper! And Pat is correct; it's only for the small hatch...
Cheers

Great reference photo Jeff, yes that's the piece Formations do. Got any other good Sherman photos?

A buddy and I visited the Fred Ropkey Museum and he had one of those 'Brand New' sitting on a shelf. He has 3 Shermans there.

Here's one of his Shermans that was used in the movie "Tank" with James Garner.

Also, to it's right and in the background is a M4 with the 105mm similar to a tank that Fred Ropkey commanded in Korea. Really nice fellow, listening to a Vet from any war is very interesting.

There are more pics but I would have to search for them.
