Hi!

So as I've announced earlier, I'm currently building mentioned engineer vehicle.
The basic kit is from "Panzershop", but this model is out of stock already (fortunately got one of the last ones) Now the progress is already a bit gone, but I thought its never too late to begin a built log

All I got to say for the moment is: u really need to love this model, if u wanna build an exact one. I'm going for the NVA-version and as u can maybe see, I've done a lot of self-conversion and adding myself already.

I'm open for comments as usual and will keep u posted on this one. My aim is to finish it during this fall... we'll see

Now a bunch of pics, enjoy watching:

Will continue building the BAT in a week or so (a bit stressed at the moment )

I can only say one thing for now: forget everything u know from plastic kits or some other resin ones concerning matching of the parts

I also collected dozens of pics and information about the original BAT (not so easy to find in the net -> the REALLY interesting parts I mean ) So if somebody needs help with it (as u wrote, that some of u also intend to build it...) :

I'll be keeping a close eye on this build as I've just picked one of these up too. Looking good so far - what are the swellings on the lower hull near the blade pivots - Strengthening I'm guessing ? Haven't seen any mention/sign of them - you must have found better refs !!

U mean those? If so: yeah, they are strengthenings for the blade mounts. As I said: I got quite good refs (could take pics for myself on an original one), so if u need... just write me a short note.

Ok, as I promised here are some news to the progress. When u see the pictures u can maybe imagine, that "Mr. copper wire" is now my special friend It took quite a lot of time but in my opinion its worth the effort. I reworked the storage boxes a bit, the exhausts and added all the hydraulik systems and fuel tubes and stuff. Then I added some selfmade storages for the "snow shoes" (whats the word in english for it ) at the front, that are typical for the NVA-versions. Also the wire-roll on top of the left front hydraulic arm. What else... don't now. Just know, that it was a lot of work at the moment. So if there are questions: ask them

Enjoy again and thanks for watching again!

And finally the reworked tank, blade and crane... thats it with constructing the BAT-M. Next step is painting. But will take a time to sort out the right color and stuff. Want the little bulldozer looking nice in the end Keep up watching... I'll keep u posted

Guten tag....... Genosse Marian

It´s lovely to see yet another NVA-modeller on the site. The kit looks very crips and clean, just the way i like it.

Keep up the good work Marian! And im looking forward to seeing more pics on the build.

Best regards

First I want to thank you for the really nice words! It is nice to see, that you like this special piece of work.

I wasn't too happy with my building progress in between, but it went out to be a nice model finally (kit quality was really good for a resin one) So I can say: it is finally done! The BAT-M is painted and I'm quite happy with the result I got to say.

You will see the whole thing in a feature quite soon, so just keep up watching. But can't and don't want to post some pics right NOW for a special reason (maybe you saw it already... no more words)

PS: next thing is gonna be the czech trailer P50 for the BAT

Alright, here it is Maybe some of you have seen it already in the DMOM contest. A featured article is to be followed (sent the stuff to Bill already) but here are some first pics for you I like the result after some concerns, but if I just consider that it is only my 3rd model... it should be ok!?

The rest will come soon in mentioned feature with some more info on the building process. Thanks for watching and all the comments on my way to this result

Hey Marian

Only your third model?? Christ I didn't build this even after 20 models! It looks very nice not to heavy weathering just a little very smooth I like it very much. Which kit did you use as a base? Where did you have the ref pics from?? I'm looking forward to the build report. And shhhhttt but you get my vote

Thanks for your kind comments.

@ Roel: Well, I was modelling when I was a kid. But then, after an almost 10 years break I started again. The first two models are ok but since this one was supposed to be "my baby" I tried to put in as much effort as possible (and said to myself not to rush through it by any means).

The base kit was the "Panzershop" BAT-M. I did some little self-conversion to get a NVA version though. References are mostly taken by myself on an original BAT close to where I live. I have to thank some really nice guys, who are restoring some of these old nice heavy beasts, I came in contact with for this opportunity!

My 2nd model was the "T-55 AM2B" I showed here earlier this year... but your Iraqui version of the T-55 is still far ahead!!! So my hat's away as well for a while already to all the great modellers here around
