Hy to all!
Well, I think a pretty cool subject to build, even if there is not much information about the original vehicle. I build this one for a client in germany, so I followed his instructions (markings, color, turret installation etc) I know that markings, colors etc are not correct, but anyway, the client is the king :-D
The kit is from "Best Value Models", which in fact give you the AFV-club Sdkfz and a Heller sprue with the Renault turret......unfortunately the turret comes without instructions.....
Anyway, a fun project, I really enjoyed it. (Mostly because of the good quality of the AFV club kit.) A weird feeling, I usually only build modern russian stuff ;-)
Oh, before I forget, the yellow is not that yellow at all. Its just because of the lighting. You see the "real color" in the last pic.
Here some pics:

And finished:
Hope you like it,
Best regards,
Andy T.

This is an amazing model! I've never heard of this 251, where and when was it used? Thanks for your time!

Hy!
Thanks for your very nice feedback.
Hmm, there is not much info about this Sdkfz, but I read two different stories about it on the net.
The one says that it "may" was used in the Ardenne offensive by german troops, the other source says that it was used by french and not german troops, at the end of the war.
Well, I donīt know which story is true or even if one is true. Maybe someone could shed some light into it?
Thanks again,
Best regards,
Andy T.

Just Googled Sd.Kfz. 251 with R35 turret, here's a photo of French troops using it.

Now this is a beauty!!
I am thrilled to see this one as a model!
Did you do the interior as well? Thins like a turretbasket and such.. If you did, how did you do that?
As for the 251, I believe it was used in Paris in '44.

Very cool build, I like the conversion.
From a critique standpoint, I'm not thrilled with the tarps. They are done well but they don't help the vehicles look (IMHO). To me they look like you're hiding something. I would rather see a folded tarp or rolled tarp or something like that.

One thing you do need to add is the muzzle for the coaxial MG, it should be on the sprue as Heller (unlike Trumpeter) remembered to add the part. It's a small rectangular plate with a bolt at each corner and a crude lump in the middle representing the muzzle of the Riebel MG.
One thing you don't need to add is a turret basket, the APX-R turret didn't have one, just a sling for the commander/gunner to sit on.

Hy!
Thank you all for your very nice and constructive comment.
@Ron: As David mentioned before, there is no turret-basket at all.
BUT: Im sure that there where some changes made to the interior, for example ammo-storage. But this would have been a question of time (to scratch it) and so, for the client, a question of money. he decided to let the interior as it was. But, as far as I know, there is no info about the real interior available......so it would have ended in a "what if".
Anyway,
Thanks again,
best regards,
Andy T.

Awesome model! Don't see one of them every day, looks great!
You've done a fantastic job, especially like the paint scheme and weathering!
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!
