I haven't had a great deal of time for modelling over the last few months, with Uni exams etc taking priority, nor have I had much time for the 'net.
Still, I have made further progress on my PPA Jeep, with the help of Ultracast's Bren Gun ammo boxes, which the PPA bolted to the front fenders of their Jeeps for use as toolboxes. The PPA tied a lot of equipment to the bonnet of their Jeeps, so I've started work on that area. I've had comment on the Billy tins tied to the rear grab rail - I have at least one photo (from the book 'Popski's Private Army') which shows empty billys tied to the back of Popski's Jeep. Must have been noisy!

Once I can get around to it I'll complete the stowage, and replace the Acadamy
.30 cal ammo cans with Ultracast versions or similar and build a base...

Jeff -

With all the extra stuff the guys carried, where did they all sit?

Looking good, thanks for the pics!

Cheers!

Hi Andy, I'm a part time, first year 'Senior' student going for a BA...current course of study (Australia & New Zealand in the 20th C & World History)
My ideas for a base are based on a Resicast 'Tank man with can' figure...

Thats a cool course Jeff, Simple yet effective base, the figure adds that third dimension which is good.

Thanks Dave & Andrew - my biggest challenge is going to be doing justice to the Resicast Tank Man in terms of painting. I'm a neophyte compared with some of the magnificent figure modellers both here and in 'Historicus Forma'. It's a challenge I intend taking slow and easy, referring constantly to these sites.

(NB:I've slightly modified him - the 2 gallon oil can he formally carried now has a handle, and fits snugly in the carrier at the back of the Jeep, and he has developed a beard, courtesy of Mr Surfacer 500.)
