hi all,
after a period of not building anything for about 3 or 4 years and dragging my boxed Dragon Leopold from the UK to Australia I decided to throw myself back in at the deep end.
So here is my Leopold so far, ive just finished the initial spray and need to start detailing and hand painting.
Theres a long way to go yet but i would value your opinoins so far.
im not the best photographer so apologies there,
thanks
Martin

These big guns sure have been popular lately. This is quite a big build. Construction looks good. Just don't forget to wash and weather it.

Looks good so far. There will still be quite a lot to do, as you say yourself. But since you have a well done camouflage on, you are of to a good start.

Looking forward to see more.

Looks good to me, thats a big sucker! I'd want to build one but I have nowhere for it when it's done. Looks like someone sniped one of your soldiers on the end of the upper deck, the other guys need to take cover!

Hey guys, thanks for your kind words,
suprisingley the paint hasn't been that bad, i think 4 of the middle stone and half of the red brown. and thats about it really for the main body.
My biggest problem now is finding a cover suitable for it, i tried a glass manufacturers and the quoted me about 300 bucks, not going down that route!! any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Martin

ugh, I have a couple aircraft carriers in the works pushing 3' and the prospect of cases were all around the $300 range. If you get lucky you can score a display case at a small retail store thats closing.

yeah annoying isnt it, who'd have thought it would be so expensive.
im leaning towards perspex at the moment at a third of the price, but what choice do i have, here in western australia the build up of dust happens in no time.

If you are going to invest, I would get it oversized as it only costs a few dollars more. Make it so it fits two side by side at least, or if you want to mix it up you can put a ton of smaller models in there or just a row of 1/35 german armor next to it, etc. No use making it JUST fit the one model.

Looking great so far. Makes me want to get started on my own (... and my Loki and my Dora!!). But we're looking to move in new year '08 so I'm hanging fire on starting my rail guns, as I'd rather transport them still boxed so as to avoid damage.

I really like the camo job you've done. The brown looks a bit reddish, but I suspect that's just a trick of the camera (if my own photography is anything to go by). Really looking forward to seeing it finished.

Steve
