Hello everyone,
This is the second update of my in-progress FT-17. The first time I posted under my FT-17 was 2-3 months ago. Since then I have made great strides with this kit.
For reference I have included my very first FT-17 WIP photo. That pic is the last photo included.
Be prepared to spend alot more time on this kit if you want a show stopper. The majority of time spent is scratchbuilding parts and/or improving existing parts.
I did spend a good month removing and installing new brass & resin rivets. I'm proud that I managed to replace every rivet on both the hull & turret. I used both Calibre35 & Scale Hardware's products.
I highly recommend using Scale Hardware's products. They're expensive but time saved & ease of use will make up for the price.

Glad to see you're still making progress on this one, very impressive work with the rivets.

Paul,
This build really is amazing in the added detail. I really can't wait to see additional progress! I have a few WWI tready-thingies to build and I'll happily use this build (and the posted link) as reference...
Now, a question for ya.....on your first and fifth pic (from the top), the "return wheels," it almost appears that the "spokes" are PE (especially the fifth)...but not quite....is that the kit's detail or have you "done something?"
Dude, looks like a flippin' "internal" porcupine!!!!!
Awsome!
Mike

Mike,
Thanks for your comments & support. I'll be glad when I'm finished with it.
The return wheels are actually PE from an Eduard set. However, I did fabricate styrene disks to replace the kits' wheels.

Amazing work indeed! What manufacturers kit is this again?
I like what you have done so far, too bad all the work will be covered up with paint.

Hi Jeff
I have this kit "ageing" in my collection .....waiting to be built ...its manufactured by RPM and it is indeed a SWEETHEART. Iv picked up the Aber photo etch and a set of FRUIL tracks for her and Im looking foreward to clearing up some projects before I lovingly dive in..
