I don't want to sound negative, but if you're depicting an M1A2, you have built it with the MCD (a USMC only feature on the M1A1) instead of the CITV.

You're probably aware of this, but you need to add the gunsight doors too.

Otherwise, it looks good

I guess it is still in progress since some parts are still missing? Phil mentioned the gunsight doors and the MCD. You still have some mold lines on some of the stowage and need to add antennas. The wheel hubs should also be painted black since they are oil filled.

Beyond what the others have stated, there are a few other things wrong or missing. The TC's hatch is missing the handle (it goes into the hole) and it looks like the inside of it is unpainted. The two pins on the right rear mud flap should be removed. They are left over from mounting the rear hull-mounted APU that is no longer used. The soda boxes are way over-sized. They are about twice what they should be. The .50 cal is also missing the handles at the rear used to hold and fire it. The pins that lock the TC's cupola are also missing on either side of the mount. The loader's M240B is missing too. I'm hoping it is still a work in progress with all the missing and incorrect parts. Good luck on it.

Man i thought those soda boxes where good.
O well.
Anthony:
I got the soda boxes off this site some one posted them in a link somewhere.

Phil:
I hope i can get that mcd off then.

Eric what can i use to make antenas is there any really thin wire that is strong enough?

Gino:
looks like this is going to have to be a wip then.
I dont think this kiy came with the loaders hatch pins i dont recal seeing any.
the .50cal was just compleatly forgotten. (my bad)

Ive put the thing back on the bence to fix (try to fix) all the things i messed up on my tank.
(it was my first modern tank by the way apart from the strv 122 but that was hobby boss so it didnt count

Thanks David

David,
don't sweat it to much, fix what you can, and chalk the rest up to experience. It looks from your initial post that you rather rushed through this one, which is probably why you missd a few things .
Take your time with your next kit, read up on some references (which is great fun in itself.. ) and double check the instructions.
Looks like you don't have any problems with your painting skills, but then again, it did take you five days...

Cheers
Henk

I believe the pins that Gino is referring to are parts "D6", which go into the holes in the square projections at the front of the Commander's cupola, on either side of the arms of the .50 mount.

Phil is correct. I don't have the directions, but he and I are talking about the same thing. I also agree with Henk. A one day build is a little quick. Take your time, study the instructions well, do some research, and then build the model at a leisurely pace. Your results will be much better. Good luck and keep us posted.

David -

Looking good, thought it came out nice. Will have to agree with some of the comments, may want to take your time on your next build, even studying the directions prior to snipping the first pieces from their sprues. I've found that thinking about how to paint the parts throughout the build may change the way it's built, and with more experience, deviating from the kit's build sequence is better and may be easier in the long run. "A plan is just something to deviate from"...

Nice paint job though, llke your shading and such. Keep at it! This site is awesome for tips and techniques! Thanks for sharing!

Cheers!

That is pretty good for a one day build.
The fender bars or rods are missing that hold the fender up.
The lip in front of Driver hatch should be flat and not raised.
I guess Tamiya should of caught that.
No Tow cables
For Antennas try Carbon Fiber rod strong and easy to glue plus bends and returns to shape.
The paint job I would say is excellent.
Ditto what others have said.
Now if you would of spent 5 days building it would of been a Killer job.
But still great with a little touch up.
Please repost when done.

Ok so this project has been put aside.

As ive now got the Dragon m1a1 and m1a2 sep kits.

And they are just way better than the tamiya kit no matter how fun it is to build.
I will make a new thread on it soon.

Thanks for the comments guys.
