hello all,
i was looking at the list of campaigns ending, the last one listed is ends on July 1,2008.so there is a idea.how about a Sea Lion Campaign.i am baseing this on a book by Kenneth Macksey "Invastion:The Alternate History of the German Invastion of England,July 1940".this will be a intrestion campaign as it did not happen.so if you like "What if" this might be for you.if there is enought interest then i will set up the timeline and equitment used in the book.i am not going to follow the book super close, but use it for a template.
Matt, this is not to hinder your suggested campaign.i will still help you all i can.
let me know it you think this is a good idea.
cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce!
Serious potential for the "what-iff'er's" out there. Would this be kind of like an alternate "Normandy;" you know, the opposite shores? AFV's, personnel, wheeled, English bunkers, AA, landing craft (shoot, did the Germans actually have landing craft? ), air craft, that kind of build? Might be a good place for some of the E-series armor....

hello Mike,
the German had what was called Prahms, they were converted barges.they also hade Siebel ferries developed my the Luftwaffe, powered in so cases by a aircraft propellers with the aircraft engines mounted over the superstructure and carried 88mm flack for close fire support.the Pz.3 was adapted towade to a depth of 8 meters after entering the water down an extending ramp from a Prahm.what i think would be a cool dio is a group of german paras fighting a British ground crew and pilot for control of a Spitfire..with this campaign you could do allmost anything since it did not happen as long as it is in the timeline.
cheers,
Bruce

This is a great idea Bruce.
I think the perfect way to depict a Nazi invasion of Britain is to put German troops in dioramas with incongruous detail such as red postboxes and telephone kiosks or alongside typical British buildings like thatched cottages, village pubs, railway stations etc.
Incidentally anyone interested in the what-if aspect of living in an occupied UK should check out two great fictional accounts...

Great idea,
Can't believe nobody has mentioned the Tauchpanzer!
I'd be up for this one.

Instantly, a portion of the Monty Python skit 'The Dull Life of A City Stockbroker' with the soldiers exiting the bus comes to mind...

hello all,
well it looks like there is an intrest in this campaign.we need at least 10 people to sound off tomake this a go.if i get that number i will sumitt it.
Ian,i have them both, good books.there is also a book about the Channel islanders during ww2,under german control.
Mike M,thanks for the link, this will help for the campaign.
Stuart,if it is in the timeline,go ahead.i do not know about this vehicle, can you tell me about it?
the time line i am thinking about is 21 May1940-2 August 1940.any suggestions are welcome.please rember, this is a "what if",so no Panthers,Shermans,or martians.
Cheers,
Bruce
