Getting ready tostart a SU-152 by them. Any comment or complants about it? I also have the DML SU-152 or is it a JSO-152 from there Korean Series. Is there a differnt in the 2 tanks? Which kit is better. I have not been able to find an EE one.

Hey Scott,
The ISU-152 and SU-152 are similar yet different vehicles based on different chassis.
The SU-152 was built on the KV tank chassis and the later JSU(ISU)-152 was built on the Josef(Iosef) Stalin tank chassis, which was based on the KV chassis
The Italeri (nee Zvezda) and Dragon JSU(ISU)-122 & 152's are based on their respective JS(IS)-2 kits.
The European Express SU-152 is based on their KV-1 tank kits.
European Express is apparently out of business and their kits are OOP and perhaps one of the other Russian/Ukrainian manufacturers now has the molds.
The Dragon kits were O.K. but the lower hull was not deep enough resulting in problems with the way the tracks sat under the fenders
The Dragon kit's indy tracks are pretty good, you almost don't need glue whereas the Italeri/Zvezda tracks are 2 piece vinyl and should be replaced.
Both kits have their problems but at present are the "only shows in town".
Hopefully with Tamiya coming out with a new IS-2M and Dragon planning a "Premium" issue of their JS(IS)-2 kit #6318, there will be some new or updated Russian SP kits in the works.
Cheers

IS it possible to remove the super structure of an ISU 152 and using a KV-1s conversion make a SU-152. I was sure I had one but I most of got rid of it and I thought the Italeria on was till I looked at it.

No, the superstructure was a different design. You might be able to adapt the gun mount and some of the roof fittings, but you'd have to scratchbuild the superstructure. The only 1/35th scale KV-1S is the Eastern Express kit, but no conversion is necessary since they also make the SU-152.

Hey Scott,
I dug out the Dragon JSU(ISU)-152 and Eastern Express KV-14(SU-152) from my stash and compared the hulls and superstructures and they are quite different in shape.
It would take an extensive amount of work to convert an ISU-152 to a SU-152.
Someone may have an EE kit they're willing to part with, I have two but I was planning to cross kit them with a couple Trumpeter KV kits.
It's too bad that Trumpeter didn't continue with their KV series and do the SU-152 and other variants
Cheers
