I have never built a MiniArt kit before, so hopefully someone can fill me in on them.
Do they have vinyl treads in their kits or the individual links? With this advertising over 600 parts, do they normally include PE or an aluminum barrel? And are they reasonably priced?
I have avoided the older DML kit just because of the arrival of this kit and just had a few questions about their releases overall. I like building tank destroyers the most but with this containing 600 parts and the size of the actual vehicle would lead me to believe it will be very detailed!!
Thanks,
Jeff

Been there, done that. No details.
Just wanted some insight from other modelers.

I recently built the new Miniart T-70 late, which the SU-76 is based on. The Miniart kits come with indy link tracks, hence the high part count. There is no PE or aluminum barrel. The detail is excellent and the engineering of the kit is outstanding. Assembly was trouble free and my kit needed no putty anywhere. The fit was perfect. It was a joy to build!
As the Alan/DML/Maquette SU-76 kit has long held the dubious distinction in armor circles as the least buildable styrene kit in existence ( I have actually seen a guy at a show get mad at a vendor for even bringing the kit to the show and trying to sell it!), and the Miniart T-70 and Zis-3 kits are gems right out of the box, I'd say the SU-76 kit is going to sell very well and get rave reviews. A lot of guys have been asking for a good SU-76 kit for a lot of years. I expect anyone who buys one will be very happy.

I found the MiniArt T-70 kits very enjoyable, comparable to the Trumpeter KV series of kits. The high parts counts is a result of the tracks being link-link type. The Su-76 will include a lot more parts due to the open top and included gun. This is a highly anticipated kit IMHO. Whether this kit includes metal barrel and PE remains to be seen, but at their price point of mid-$40's I doubt it to be honest. The T-70 did not include it. The T-70 had some turret shape issues but having built it, I say it would really only bother the experts on this tank and does not distract too much from an otherwise nice kit.
Will be a benchmark for MiniArt and a real homerun if it is good as I think it will be. Great and original subject matter, long overdue. I would like to think a new ZSU-37 could be coming in our future if this is any indication of their product line.
Best,
Mike

Oops! Forgot - SU-76 MSRP is $49.95, so you should be able to find it for $40-45. I'd say it's well worth it, I'll be getting one for sure.

If this is in any way decent, I´ll be buying it. Have built the Maquette kit and have always dreamed of a better version. Looks like this is it!

I'll second that motion. If the kit is even halfway decent, it will find a spot on my workbench.
Let's see if the "few weeks" release time really is just a few weeks!

This is good news. I have not yet build build any of their AFV kits, but if it is the same quality as the Miniart figure sets we are in for treat.
As already pointed out the "few weeks" is hopefully just that. A good kit to start the new year with
Thanks for the update, Jim

I wonder if someone would bother to do a comparison review of the two kits when this one's out.
Most likely, a comparison won't be necessary, but I think it would be a blast anyway.

Well on the Subject I built the Dragon one or was it an Allen kit .
Shameless pictures.
So this should be a walk in the park
This will be a great kit to build.
But I still have a warm spot in my heart for my 3 month Suka
Now if you want "to Build a Model" do the Dragon one

IIRC they are also releasing a german crew for this. Does it mean they'll come out with (or have come out) with an SU 76(r) as well?

First of all, nice SU-76 sgtreef!
Second, not having any material on this vehicle, what's the difference between the (M) and the (r) models?
Thanks guys.

(r) is the German designation for the captured vehicle.
