Well, if you want to do it yourself, there was a thread here a week or so ago featuring a very nice Zimmerit application using green putty on a Tamiya Brummbar. If you want to go with an aftermarket product, Cavalier and Atak both produce resin Zimmerit products for most major kits. Cavalier's tends to be more subtle, while Atak favors heavier applications with bolder patterns. Either can be applied easily using five minute epoxy glue (super glue works, too, but you get almost zero time to position the resin perfectly before the glue sets up--epoxy gives you more "wiggle time" to arrange it correctly). Eduard and Verlinden both offer photoetched metal Zimmerit, but I wouldn't recommend it in 1/35th scale, as it tends to end up looking like aluminum siding instead of a layer of hardened putty (it works better in 1/72nd). It would also be applied with epoxy, but you would also need to putty all edges and joints.

Gerald pretty much covered the PE/resin/home-made options. I'm about 95% done on a KT using a Cav set. I also have a Tiger (P) with a PE set....The PE set is pretty "stiff" and shows no "wear and tear," so if you want a "factory fresh" application, PE will work. However, if you want a kit that's showing some beating, go with the resin. It's flexible, easy to trim (very much UNLIKE PE), and easy to use. While doing the KT's zimmy, I used a combination (depending on piece of zimmy to attach) of 2-part epoxy (great for the larger pieces), Future for small flat pieces, and Gel CA glue for the small pieces that go on rounded and complex surfaces (mantlet and the like). From what I gather (and I could be wrong) the big difference between Cavalier and Atak is that Atak will often include a zimmy'd turret, so most of the complex surfaces are already done for you.

Might I add after using both they are about the same.
The newer ATAK might be a tad better then the Australian one no offense but have the separate sheets from Cav to use if I see fit but Better to get the fitted sets as they are a little easier to use.
Epoxy glue is good but sticky I like the thin Ca myself.
Good luck and I am posting a pic of the ATAK one on my Kitty.
Kind of a plug if you don't mind.

Hi Ziggy
I was in the same boat about a year ago and went for the Cav set as putty wasn't for me. I was happy how it turned out although I would use slow drying glue so your get a chance to put it in the right place.
Here a pic of how it is turning out so far
