Get ahold of Zvezda's BMD kits, they have the best overall kit of either of the base BMD's. This would be the only source of better roadwheels.

I just did not want to break his heart...
The SKIF kit builds up ok, but you are better off just using what you have. Zvezda's tracks, by the way, are those horrible 2 piece silver affair that need to be thrown away, so no one kit is the greatest.

Thnxs guys.... and happy new year btw
indeed, the skif kit builds up OK, and i do have the zvezda kit (bmd-2) and i noticed that they have some differences on the wheels,
so i'll try to do the best with the skif wheels (some dirt may help ) and then go for zvezda kit.
tracks?? are them so bad?? any cheap replacement for them ?

Hello all
What about the quality of the EE kit ?
I have it and it looks nice even if i didn't check my references. Any comment on it? Is a kitbash with a zvezda ones a good idea?
I have the masterclub tracks and they are GREAT and cheap (less than 10euros from memory)!
Thanks
Regards
stéphane

Masterclub tracks are the best replacement tracks, but they can be hard to locate. Hobby Easy seems to be the only place getting stock right now.
I have all three companies kits and the Eastern Express kits are good as well, but fiddlier (Word?) and some detail is extreemly poor, like the gun barrel.
I would rank them as Zvezda being the best, then Skif, and then EE. There is not a lot that is seperating them from each other, however. Each requires some extra work in some form and probably some aftermarket additions.

I have too the MP barrel for BMP1 which should be OK for a BMD1 and planed a Eduard set, i'll check my photos to see how the EE kit can be improve, if it will not enough i'll kitbash with Zvezda.
