In the midst of building the halftrack dio I kind of hit "builders block". So I had this kit in my stash and figured it could allow a break from the dio.

it was a pretty straight forward build. There was very little flash, and very little clean up was needed. The thing that took the most time was the road wheels. I tried a few different ways of painting them but ended up just painting with a fine brush. The muffler was just painted rust with some brown dry brushing. And the tools were painted metallic grey. I was just going to do the model stand alone, but I couldn't resist of making a base for it. I post those pics later. When this is done I'll jump back onto the half track.

So here's some pics. Lend me some comments.

Hi Danny. Very clean build, as is evident from your smooth paint job.
Did you decide to not use the decals?
As it stands now ... it looks like the perfect showroom model. Personally I like to weather my models, as it gives them more life.
I see you also did some conversion work with the figures .... but some mold seams are visible on them. Best to clean these off before painting.

Hi Frank!

i'm about 50% into the build. I was going to wait to put the gloss coat on then decals then weather over everything.

The figures were with the kit but I wanted to try my hand at altering them a bit. I've been jumping between the tank and figs through the build.

I suprised myself with the paint job. It is spray bomb. I didn't think I could get good coverage like that out of the can.

Before I bought my first airbrush, I used spray cans for the base colour. So quick and with a little prep and carefull spraying, excellent results can be achieved. So much quicker and better than hand painting. Good luck with the rest.
