G’day All,
I hope everyone has had a happy, joyful and safe Christmas New year.
Below is an Australian SAS used M113A2 in Mogadishu Somalia 1994 that myself and Brett are working on.
This is still a very much a work in progress as there is still quite a bit to do in the interior to finish off before the outside is tackled.
The only aftermarket parts used were the fuel cell from Mouse House, a bit of Eduard PE, and a set of MK tracks. The rest has been scratch built or heavily modified from the original kit parts. Some of the parts have been cast by me to use on other M113 kits later on and some parts (non Aussie bits like the heater) have been under coated in grey primer.
Any comments and or criticisms would be happily received. Especially on the A2 mods.
Cheers Jason and Brett

Is that solder you've used for all that wiring and fuel lines?
A little detail I like to add on M113s is gouging out the seam between the side and rear panels with a chisel blade then cleaning up with a tiny flat file.

That is one nice project you have there. I remember seeing those things when I was making my rounds at the airport there in Mogadishu. Looking forward to the progress on this one.

Thanks Paul and Danny.
Paul, yes it is solder. I will also be useing it for the RT524 Radio harness. As for the outside, that Bretts job to worry about. I did bring it up with him and he said that yes he will add it to the job.
Danny, this car was on loan from the US to the Australian SAS for op's in Mog 1994.
Cheers Jason

Gday Jason,
Great 113 build. I like the pivot’s handles in the drivers bay and the detail on the fuel systems. Did you ever finish the project?
Question: Is the radio shelf which you posted a photo of on Mick’s Rwanda 113’s threat https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/129839&page=1 for the Vic 1 harness? I have always thought that adding the radio shelf and mounting trays would be a great addition to the Aussie Armour VIC 1 harnes kit. Don’t suppose you can pull any strings on that one? I have made do scratching these items in the past but have never been fully satisfied with the results.

G'day Wayne,
Thanks for the kind comments.
I have all I'm going to do to this build apart from the figures. It's now my offsiders job to finish it.
The radio shelves in this thread and the ones in Mick's Rawanda thread are the same ones (the engine acess panels are now included in the T50 Kit from Mouse House MA113). I intend to do a resin VIC 1 harness one day, but at this stage I'm to busy working on the ASLAV stuff. I will keep you in mind Wayne.
Cheers Jason
