Hi all,

This is my now completed M4A1 76w, "In the Mood" (III) of Lafayette Pool.

I posted in progress pics a month or so ago, but am including them again. On the advice of several people here and on ML, I've made a few changes since those pics were taken, including flipping around the MG barrel clamp (which I'd mistakenly glued on in the wrong orientation), lowering the two angle brackets on the back of the turret, and maybe one or two other changes.

The kit is mostly the Italeri M4A1, with DML suspension (except the wheels, which are Italeri, but with Formations idler), barrel, headlight guards. All rear stowage except the duffel and crate (barely visible) are homemade from tissue paper or, in the case of the ID panel, copy paper. Figure is from Tamiya (one of their half figures). Antenna mount is Academy, the one that comes molded bent back, which I used b/c in the photo I have of "in the Mood" it's set up this way. Decals are also DML, except the roof star (Italeri, I think). Painted with Tamiya OD, then lightened OD (panel fade), then lightened Model Master Aircraft Interior Black for the camo. I used fresh OD for the painted out speed numbers on the turret. Got an oil wash, also oils for fuel stains. The dusting effects are all acylic paints. Antenna is guitar string (I've touched up its paint since these photos were taken). Tracks are Tamiya.

Don't know what else to say unless anyone has questions. Feel free to comment. Thanks for looking and for all the help along the way.

Rob

Great Sherman Rob - Like the way your paint and weathering ended up, looks fantastic. Nice base as well, complements your tank well. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Cheers!

Nice work Rob. Any photos from a lower angle? I like the fresher shade of OD painted over the speed numbers.

Hi Rob,

Another fine Sherman for the collection. Nice work, it's very clean looking for the dusty looking road thought.

Great work, I always thouogh the square gun mount and the turret made this and odd looking combination. You've done a grand job though.

Cheers

Hey Rob
Turned out well
I also like the speed number OD paint over!
Nice touch on the securing of the antenna mount.
Any thoughts on adding a .50cal?
I'd agree with dusting up the hull a bit, especially with such a light coloured track
Good stuff

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the comments. If I take some lower level shots I'll post them in a separate thread.

The tank is a lot dustier looking than it shows in any of the photos....this happens with all of my photos. I doubt I'll add any more dusty spray to it.

As for the light guards, in my original thread (a month or so ago) I explained that I had these on hand and really just didn't feel like fiddliing with them. I kind of regret it now since the tank turned out so well, but I'm okay with it.

Thanks again for the comments.
