Hi Neil ...That's a real nice set of figures but are more at home in 1943 ...The overalls were not very popular with the crews and were superceeded by two piece camo uniforms by 1944...Oh and this is for the SS units only ...Are you doing your Tiger HEER or SS? Types and styles are a little different even in the black uniforms ..Camo uniforms were rarely seen on HEER crews . Tamiya's tankers have both SS and army figures in their set ..

Third company, heavy SS tank battalion 101. Abteilung was the term applied to a formation equivalent to an American tank battalion, so a Schwere Panzer Abteilung was a heavy tank battalion. That unit lost all of its Tiger tanks in the collapse of the German front in August, 1944, and was reformed with 45 new King Tigers as the SS 501st. It went on to fight in the Ardennes offensive and later against the Soviet onslaught in in Hungary.

I also have this set, purchased some time ago.

It's a bit ass about face I know, choosing a tank to fit the figures, but given the unit these figures are depicting, time period etc. what tanks would they have been equipped with ? By the way Terry marks them as 1944 but the box indicates 1943.

Thanks

Alan

Those figures are great for anything around the Kursk period ...Panzer IV G ...Panther D(I know SS had no Panthers at Kursk but after that)...Tiger I ....Stug III G ...you get the picture but SS crews..
