Jim,
Just to follow on from my initial report about these guys in the "Armor/AFV" forum, I feel it's it's also worth mentioning that the castings (at least the ones I've received) appear to be completely free of those annoying bubbles that can sometimes be a problem with ceramic items and require tedious filling.
They really are very nice, solid, non-brittle castings. Speed of delivery and packaging top-notch as well. Definitely worth a punt.

Looks really cool - although some of the bases are too small for my liking. I do not like when the tank is extending over the edge of the base.
Anyway, worth a try. Thanks for the update

While these do look great, I'd be inclined to think these would make better display bases rather than diorama bases proper.
Not that there's anything wrong with that - having something to place your model on gives it some degree of context.
As these are made of ceramic material, modellers might have difficulty permanently fixing items to them, in terms of a 'diorama' being a permanent display item which tells a story or places items in historical or geographic location.
As a base on which to display a finished model though, say in your pride of place display case, they'll be just fine I'm sure.

I found it interesting that both 1/35 and 1/48 bases are the same size and look to be pretty identical (might be just the same casting in both cases). The advantage here is in favor of 1/48 scale vehicles as they will take up less space on the base without the 'overhang' of the larger 1/35 vehicles.
