Hi Matt
Nice looking scimitars, always nice to see some more modern British armour. I will just say, incase you intend to use the desert one in an Op Telic dio ( Presesnt Iraq war) or Op Herrick (Present Afghan war) it can not be used as this has the old engine deck layout and is also missing the new sights. Just thought I should let you know! Anyway, as I said, very nice looking Scimitars and also I like the slushy ground on the dio base. Just one question, how did you make the camo nets? Thanks, Nick

You seem to have mismatched your smoke grenade launchers, when viewed from the front.??

The Desert version is wrong. the two barrels close together should be on the bottom!

care needs to be taken as one barrel always points directly forward!

Nice little builds. I think you need to apply some gravity to the back of the air recognition panel and fill the empty stowage bin on desert Scimitar.

Any problems with the kit tracks?

The 2 versions are Early 90's/late 80s the 1st Gulf war. I'm thinkin about doing 2 or 3 more scimitar a UN one and new one and a falklands one just looking 4 update kits or new kit ?. Its ok im going 2 fill the stowage bin and track still working on it

It just a bit of fun model making

hi matt
nice looking scimitars the crew men look good and i also like the camo net on the front of the desert version....
your right matt model making is a lot of fun,but the smaller detail's can drive you mad
i think you need to build a challenger 1or 2 next to show the difference in size between the two vehicles
neil

p.s.
your picture of the land rover with the background is stunning.

Model making is fun indeed and as it should be, however, when you find one of those pictures with an upside down grenade launcher cluster fitted you mention, I would like to see it!

In the many years I served on CVR(T) Scimitars etc. I can assure you I never saw one and I doubt anyone else serving or served ever did. The mounting bolts will not match up with the hull! and the power cable attachment will not meet the connector.

Being an ex CVR (Scimitar/Scorpion) Gunnery instructor I would also like to point out the danger of trying to fire them IF this spread were ever to be tried?
The spread is dangerous at best and lives could be lost in your configuration.

Simple fix, take them off turn them rightside up and swap sides.

Thanks for the picture ..........

Obviously this is a Sabre, not a Scimitar and it is the standard configuration for that vehicle due to the shape of the front of the turret and different mounting plates than the Scimitar..

Sabre being an old Scorpion hull mated to a Fox turret, utilizing a modified turret collar ring.

Great looking vehicles you've got there Matt! Both came out well, I'll admit I've got near zero knowledge on them, but they look sweet there. Nice display bases as well.

Thanks for sharing your work! Cheers -
Tim
