Hello,
I rarely post so forgive my boldness but this seems to be a great place to get answers. I'm assembling trumpeter's KV big turret kit and have fixed the barrel issue, but have another problem.
Was the rear bolted on hatch for the early KV 2 one piece? It appears to be one piece in my reference photos but none of them have a good angle.
The trumpeter KV big turret kit has the hatch molded in two parts which produces a noticeable seam. I'm trying to decide if its supposed to be there or if it should be filled.
Thank you.
Matt

One piece as far as I know, but the Germans seem to have been allergic to photographing the back of the turret properly

Well, thats what I found as well. In fact, the pics you've posted are two of the better ones.
It seems to make more sense for it to be one piece. But, I can't see a reason for the part to be molded the way it is unless it was two piece. Does that make sense?
I think I'll fill the gap. I see no evidence of a seam in the few pics I've found.
Thank you for your reply.
