This is awesome stuff, Obe. the detail is breathtaking. Almost life like if you may say so.

I noticed the miss of the vision flap, is this deliberate?

And also you forgot to install the head light, is this common on Pz 1A sans the head lens?

All in all very impressive, the time and efford paid off.

You've really outdone yourself this time Andrew! I agree with Dave: "lifelike" only begins to describe your work! I especially like the decals (or are they handpainted?).

Very very nice Panzer I, and its seems to become a veteran already by the weathering, with all that interior too I would put it on exihibition right away

TIMMEH ! #:-)

That is beautiful. Simply beautiful. It looks so very realistic. You are the Lord maximus of photo etchus indeed. :-) That is supurb work that perhaps one day I may be able to attempt. Until then it is modelers like you who inspire me. I salute you sir!

It is all the little details that make it jump to life, the chips, scrapes and the dent in the turret. Again wonderful work!

You are all too kind
Seriously, thank you fot the comments, I always appreciate them.
The numbers on the turret are painted on with stencils.
The rest of the markings are Archer transfers and Cartograph waterslide.
The weathering process was done in about seven steps.
The first was using Blue-grey and brownfilters. Each of these were applied twice.
Then, a techniques where a brush is ued to apply botches of different colours was used. I saw this technique used by MIG in a Steel Masters magazine and decided to give it a try. Once the blotches of colours, blue-grey, brown and ochre were applied, they were blended in clean white spirits.
Next, two additions of dust effects were applied with Humbrol enamels. Randon blots of dust were applied and then blended in in two steps. Next, a dark browm wash was applied twice to the entire vehicle. Finally, a mix of MIG and MMP pastels were used to add the mud/dust to the running gear and fenders.
The pastels were applied as a "goo" for the running gear and as a watery mix for the fenders.
After this. paint chips were added with German grey over the brown paint and near black over the grey. This step was then toned down with soft applications of dust.

I hope that covered most of it,

Andrew

Wow. The rain/dirt streaks on the front glacis are especially beautiful. I'd love to see pictures of that technique being applied. Maybe you could do an article?
