I am currently working on the JSU-152, and after seeing some photos I found no stowage over the tank, or even a MG mount.
Also is there any available sets of stowage (boxes, gear...) ?

Some questions for some future builds:

I am planning to get a T-55 with the MAZ trailer, and will try to have some extra oil / fuel drums and tires with the MA, are there any sets available for russian extra gear ?

A Dragon BRDM-3 is also on my plans, is there a camo pattern available for a russian version ? Or is just that Olive green colour ?

Thanksin advance ,

Thanks for the links Aleksey !

I need to read my russian lessons ( Траки = tracks right ? ), nice looking builds !!
They all look like the Zvezda kit. Good kit but terrible tracks, i got some MKasten and a metal gun barrel.
I haven't started weathering it yet,
I might build another one someday, i really enjoyed that "Big Beast" look.
They used the JSU-152 and 122 until the 1960's right ??

This is the BRDM-3 I got, an old Dragon kit

Thanks again!
I'll post some shots soon

You are welcome! concerning trucks you are extremely right!
That BRDM -3 is NOT BRDM-3 , there wasn`t such vehicle ever. The vehicle on shots is Anti-tank guided missile complex KONKURS (КОНКУРС, in english it means - contest). The base vehicle for KONKERS is the BRDM-2. So I expect you got it.

By the way you russian is quite excellent! (I wonder if my english is understandable, heh)

Good luck

ISU-152 did have the AAMG installed on some occasion. You can get the MG and mount from any DML IS-2 kit.

There are some general detail sets available for things like 55 gallon drums and general tools, tool boxes, etc. Nothing Russian specific. Also, only set of extra tires are the incredibly expensive set from Panzershop, which are just resin copies of the Trumpeter wheels.

BRDM-3 kit that you have is as Aleksey says - the Konkurs vehicle, usually designated by a 9P... number. There is a BRDM-3, as assigned by Russian Defense ministry, for a modified scout BTR-80 in very limited use by the Russian Army.

Thanks Aleksey !

So basically it's a BRDM-2 with anti-tank guided missile
Some of those builds are really cool.

Thanks Jacques !!
I'll remember not to get a Resin set of wheels for the MAZ
will get some oil / fuel drums an add some other equipment, also no PE set for the MAZ right ?

I still have tons of kits to finish before tackling this project...

The Zvezda kit had a MG mount I used that one.

Thanks for all the info !

In search of a gun barrel at my LHS, i got a SKIF BMP-3 (profit pack - with Eduard PE included) and a Zvezda BMP-1, any issues on these kits ?

Also some Modern Oil drums from MIG for the MAZ transporter.

Looks pretty crowded, how many operators ?
Your father was a driver ? gunner ?

I saw some good Modelpoint extras for BMP's, turrets, gun barrels, i might get one of those.

I will have to start weathering the JSU-152 soon.

Was any of these tanks used after WWII Su-85 ? JSU-122 ? Su-122 ?

Here's a link to a site with some information on the BRDM-3 (that's not really a -3):
http://www.warwheels.net/BRDM2_ATGM9P122index.html

Revell issued this kit (the standard BRDM-2) in East German markings, but may have included Bundeswehr markings as well. It would look interesting if it was painted in the NATO 3-color camouflage like a lot of former DDR vehicles.

I really liked this kit despite not being a "perfect Dragon type" kit.

I saw another one last week and I was considering getting it again... I took a BMP-3 instead...

I just added some wires on the sides replacing the plastic ones, a metal gun barrel and a T-54 type search light, since I was wanting to do a post-WW2 version, but I guess it isn't very accurate but it looks good...
After having painted the hull and running gear I noticed some photos of a JSU-152M version (looked like a JS-3 suspension and wheels) but it was too late to rebuild the whole thing, maybe for another project...

Hello John. I am no expert on these vehicles so cant help much with details, but one thing you should touch up is, between the roadwheels. The unpainted light grey colour stands out in these photographs! Are the upper and lower hull-halved joined completly? There appears to be a serious gap at the back plate. Might be better to fix these issues before going on to the weathering stages!

Well Frank the upper hull is not yet fixed, it was just staged for the photos.
About the road wheels, you are right, got to fix that !!

Aleksey I also started the BRDM-2 from Dragon (ex-BRDM-3..), it was a very quick build, still missing the front lights and the missiles, no PE sets or extras.

One question, where can I find some camo schemes for a russian version ? Or is it only a dark/olive green scheme colours ?

I don't know if these are "official" schemes or sales pitch displays but interesting none the less.

I will correct the JSU-152 and start weathering soon, maybe this weekend, I hope.

About the BRDM-2, yesterday I finished the front lights and those side wheels.
So just missing the 4 main wheels, and the missiles, so I can now mount the chassis and the top hull.
I was hoping to get the 2 front trap doors open but the plastic glass piece is missing, so I'll leave them closed.
About the top missiles any clues on the colours ??
The instruction guide had 2 choices: silver or dark green... but none of them seems correct (?)

in silver they paint missiles which are designated for trainings
olive green missiles - are for fighting
