hi guys
thank's for the great comment's
the front two figures are verlinden and the two up top are from miniart.
the method for making the mud is straight out of the pigments dvd from night vision creations. plaster, fine sand, mig acrylic resin, mig pigment dark mud p033 and some water mix it all together and just paint it on were ever you want it........
thank's again

Hello:
Good job building this kit. The painting looks OK. As far as the weathering, all the brownish color on the sideskirts is supposed to be rust or mud???
Same as for the wheels?? If it is mud it looks too even, just in the center of them??? Anyway that's my personal opinion. Overall good job.

DJ
hi dj how you doing
1. paint the entire face with vallejo model colour medium flesh tone 860. let this dry.
2. mix a thin wash of mig oil paint, wash brown abt 080. let this dry well (i leave it overnight).
3. paint the white of the eye with vallejo model colour light flesh 928+slow dry 597
4. paint the pupil matt black or another dark colour+slow dry 597
5. thin a small amount of vmc light flesh with tap water you are looking really for coloured water then lightly paint this onto the high points of the face nose, chin and cheek bones it wont look nice to start but just let it dry it will become opaque and the high lighting affect toned down.for the small detail i use a vallejo red sable brushes no1 for the main colours and a 4/0 for eyes and high lights. to all of the vmc paints i add vmc slow dry 597 it gives you a longer time to work with the smaller amounts of paint that you will be using.
6. i wanted the faces to look tired and dirty so i put some mig oil paint abt 110 black onto a peice of cardboard and left it for 10-15 mins so that the card draws the oil from the paint then using a tamiya modelling brush hf no.0 i stipled the nearly dry paint onto the faces were the men would not have shaved..
dj i dont think that my figure painting is really that good but what i have found is that it is much easier to paint a good resin head like hornet than a plastic injection one.
i hope this helps you dj
