I was looking at Alanger kits online & saw this:
BTR-ZD Skrezhet Russian Airborne AFV
Does anyone have any prior experience with this kit? Or with Alanger kits in general (as they seem to have some BMD & 2S23 kits, and some Ural trucks which I saw too)? Are they good? Bad? Do they require intensive labour and/or aftermarket $$$? Your feedback would be much appreciated!

They are just re-boxes of the old Eastern Express stuff. While being the right shape and size, very lacking in detail.
Ahhh. Okay - sounds as though it'd be best to avoid them in my case. Does the same go for their figure sets??

Alanger's first releases were all old ICM kits. When ICM's first incarnation went belly up a few years ago, most of the tooling was acquired by Alanger, including all of Alanger's current figures. ICM's figures weren't bad, but not as good as Tristar or Dragon Gen 2 stuff. Alanger has now expanded their product line by acquiring the molds from other defunct Eastern European companies.
Meanwhile, ICM has reorganized as ICM Holding, and they are now releasing new kits.

Ah-HA! Very informative - thanks! Yes, I did acquire some ICM figures& the quality seemed to be pretty good (actually better than the early Dragon figure kits I got, which were so-so & the casting quality was poor). I might check-out some Alanger figures if I can find any locally. Otherwise, I guess the only other company left for modern Russian figures is Zvezda, whose figures I've not had a chance to inspect yet...
Having viewed a lot of picture & video resources of late, I'm reckoning that there's a definite opening for ex-Eastern-Bloc/modern Russian militia-style figures of a more rag-tag or motley appearance. Nobody I've seen seems to have manufactured anything like this...
