Hello
I would like to share some picture progress on my sherman firefly.
Having only built the dragon firefly a few years ago its more or less my only allied tank as i only build german vehicles.i desided to lighten the colour this morning as it was too dark of a green.i used vallejo model air paints.
must say its a very nice kit to build, probably the best kit iv built (fit wise).
anyway comments welcome
Do the return rollers on the boggies need to be painted the same as the road wheels or were they left painted?rubber i mean.
Thanks
Karl

Hi KArl,
Nice work so far.
The return rollers were steel so green or metal.
Coming along well, your colour may be a bit light, the tanks were generally darker in colour but I'm no expert.

Hey Karl
I'm not certain of the colour shade either, but I reckon I like it for variety! The chipping appears effective, but I know that this would not be accurate at least for US Shermans. That said, these were repainted by the Brits I imagine, and not enamel-baked tough as nails...
I must say that the countershading paint under the barrel works effectively even against the background wall in your first photo!
Yup, as Al said the return rollers were steel. I did notice that there is a seam on the top end of the axehead and holder, and maybe on some other tools?
I do like the look of this one, and may have to go this kit eventually...
