MiniArt Limited have just announced a New 1/35th scale figure set - 35069 - British Armored Car Crew. Now, what does this mean? The company are catering to the existing models? Or, even more tantalisingly, could they be planning their own Armored Cars? While the speculation begins, the Photo-Report on this new announcement can be seen:

They look great. I can see them being used for so many British / Commonwealth vehicles.

MiniArt has great improved their figures over the last few years. With Dragon, Master Box and others storming ahead, these folks have produced some interesting figures. This latest release of British figures is a nice addition to a world crowded with German figs. I think their heads might need improving but a few new Hornet heads and presto - a killer figure for that Sherman or armored car.

Hi Guys,
Great news, these look very useable.
It occurred to me watching figure develpments this past 18 months that following the great figure debate of 86 when lots of suggestions were put forward for Dragon, that both Miniart and Masterbox were listening and Dragon weren't.
I see lots of interesting things from both MA and MB, good poses, interesting useable figures, mixed orders of dress, all positive stuff.
Hats off to MiniArt for this figure set, they will be much appreciated by Allied modellers.

HMMM..I also remember the great debate. How many of the "experts" told us how the asian markets drove the hobby and there was very little market for anything that wasn't WW2 and german. And how the companies would lose money with new releases on allied subjects. The clamor for more diverse subjects was obviously heard by Masterbox, Miniart and yes even Dragon.
In last 2 years we have seen not only sets of new Brit paras, pipers/highlanders, desert rats, brit ac crews, Italian inf and commonwealth inf (in italy), multiple russian but American tank riders, maquis/civilians and yes even US civil war figures!! WOW!! I'm glad someone was listening to the consumers and not just the "experts". Thank you for all the new figures! I for one think the hobby is better off for the diversity.

Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What great timing...I was looking for resin figures to go with my Staghound.
I'm assuming that that this set would work with;
a) Italy and NWE(summer)
b) other British Tanks
Definiately welcome news....can hardly wait to get several(5+)

Much as i'm an admirer of Terry's work on PMMS, I doubt if even he could get a Review up a day after the company announced them. News Report - NOT review...

It's a welcome addition, there's not much out there in the way of plastic British or Commonwealth vehicle crew.
Resin's nice but expensive and/or difficult to find or acquire.
Hopefully it's only the beginning from MiniArt.
Cheers

Could a Mini Art British armoured car be on the way? perhaps a daimler or AEC? They may even consider some North African buildings as these are 8th army troops.

One thing folk should bear in mind is that a lot of Czech and Polish units fought alongside Commonwealth units using the same equipment, same uniforms, etc. Those of us who like building Commonwealth stuff are largely benefiting from manufacturers catering to their home market. Fortunately, said home markets seem to like dioramas, with the end result that we're getting usefully posed figures.
However, since the Poles and Czechs fought with the Commonwealth troops, the gaping hole that is "useful in-action US tank crews" remains, um, gaping. While there are plenty "US tanker" figures, it appears they spent their time leaning against tanks, standing around smoking or filling jerrycans, and didn't actually get into their tanks very often, if what's available on the market is to believed.

Any chance that the figures in long pants could be used for NW Europe?
