Hi Guys,
I thoughtI woud have a go making a willys jeep again , I used an few PE parts from Aber.
I wasn't sure how I'd finnish it and then I saw the Hallswaka 1/48 follow me jeep , it is a good paint job to practice my airbrush skills using Vallejo White & Fire Red interior was paited Tamiya Olive Drab,
Still lots of work to go

Are you going to place it on an air field diorama?

Guys ,
Thanks for all your comments , Darryl , I intended to mount it on a base with some PSP platting on the ground hopefully giving the impression of a temporary Airfield. To have the space to build a 1/35 scale B-17 taxing in behind the jeep with battle damage and a full interior!!!
Here are some pictures of the interior which I touched up and gave a couple of Oil paint washes to attempt to bring out some detail, Also tried to regularise the squares (free hand) It worked quite well, I think though a little more work is needed
I am thinking about how to go about the washes for the body of the Jeep , But I do not want to loose too much contrast between the red and the white, I was considering giving individual mini washes or filters to each square ... to give a bit of depth to the jeep does anyone have any thoughts on how best to achive this ?
Thanks for looking ,
Best wishes,
Jerry

Really amazing work there Jerry, I love the sign and pretty much everything else you've done. Pardon my ignorance if the answer to my question is too obvious but what exactly was the purpose of the actual paint job?

Nice work Jerry.
So did you eventually weather each cell individually? Must have taken some time.
Mike,
The purpose of the colour scheme is to make the vehicle visible on the airstrip

Cheers James, glad you like it ,
Mike,
As Rudi says the jeep used by the USAAF in rear area air-fields to guide bombers back to their hangers or stands, there are also yellow & black examples.
Rudi ,
I gave the whole jeep 3 or so over all washes to give it a generally grubby appearance then selected random squares and on the white one I put a dab of white oil paint a blended it in , on the red ones I put a drop of ochre oils and blended it , Now I must resist the temptation to meddle any further.
Next job to finish up the PSP plating and the base , add a couple of placard decals and paint up a figure to stand beside it.
Thanks for looking
Regards,
Jerry

Nicely painted and weathered. It's good to see a more unusual subject.
Cool groundwork too.
