Hi all,
here are some shots of this old kit released in 1987. I built it straight OOTB at these times. It was on a shelf taking dust so last holidays I decided to give it a new "youth". I re-painted it. It is not finished yet.
In comparison with Dragon's, it's miles ahead except for the running gear.

Olivier, how does the AA kit exceed the DML/ERTL kits?
I had a PRP kit that AA did, compared it to the DML offering, and promptly sodl teh AA kit on eBay. I was really not impressed. Did I miss something in my disgust at the AA running gear?

Hello Jacques, unfortunately I don't have the the DML kit at hand right now and can't show comparison pics. The details in AA kit are far much better, nicer and very crisp. Havinf compared it to ref pics, it looks accurate to me.
The various hatches hinges are really thinner as the hatches are not intended to be moveable. The turret doesn't properly sit in the raised ring so I had to sand it a little bit (not visible in the pics).
Concerning the runnig gear, well, AA made a weird choice there. First of all, the running gear comes as two parts to be glued on the hull sides. These parts "mount" the wheels arms, the sprockets, the idlers and the top "sponsons". The sprockets and idlers are solid cast with the hull sides. You can drill out the idlers holes but that's all you can do to improve the look except if you want to change the whole thing.
The upper track part is solid too and misses the details like the horn guides. The good point is that the track around the sprocket and idler is molded directly on those wheels.
A lot of horn guides have air bubbles. I didn't try to fit AM tracks maybe that could do the trick.
I'll try to shoot closer pics during the week-end.

Hello Olivier...Yes, I get what you mean in regards to the hatch hinges. That would be a big detail change. Also, I know the AA pieces I had showed the usual thinned detail compared to earlier klunkier DML details.
I guess, considering the HORRIBLE suspension, and I really could not get over it, that the AA kits were not worth all the work to bring them up to standard. Maybe I am wrong in my thoughts though...
