Well performed and colorful Panther.

Your paintjob is really suberb Tim (though I am not a friend of strongly weathered AFVs), assembly is very good.

Interesting and nice details e.g. open front lamp, tools, rear deck armour.

Some pigments on the lower hull and the suspension/tracks could let this Panther look as more realistic as it is now.

Love your F. Great rust effect on steel sheets, like the two differant camo's on the hull and turret. Im thinking on starting the steel wheeled version, I think you've twisted my arm. cheers LOL Geraint

A true piece of "Tank-art" you've done. everything looks perfect.
I was wondering, how come you've chosen the Dunkelgelb basecoat instead of the Olivengrün, which was to be the standart AFV basecolour since late 44'?

Tim the only thing that concerns me with this build is the plates on the rear deck, would something be applied that would prevent the vehicle defending itself if an enemy got behind it?

Fantastic job on that Panther Tim. Thanks for sharing with us. What is with the metal sides on the top of the engine deck? I really like the way that came out.

hi desperate times need desperate measures the plates were added so panzergrenadiers with infra red mp44's could accomponie the tank with reasonable cover in built up areas at night. i think the idea was they would be the ones stalking enemy vehicles offsetting the hindering of 360 turret traverse and not being suprised from behind. lovely panther f by the way

Jacob, wasnt trying for accuacy, considering this tank wasnt actually in service., just going for fun for a change.

Darren, I was thinking more street fighting in Berlin. which would need close troop support, as well as little room to turn the turret anyway..besides, by the time a tank would know the need to turn it, its probably too late anyway.

Nice work on this one Tim, it's been a while since we've seen some of your work in the OD section! Very nice execution on the rear deck steel plates, they look like you took 1:1 items and shrunk them down to scale.

hey thanks Bill. its been too long .. I havent built much armor lately, startin to kinda miss it myself..so I went to somethin meatier.. a 1/16 scale Tiger from Tamiya!
as for the steel plates I used the Triangle Crafts products.

Great looking beast you have made here. The heavy weathering looks good.

great job, tim, the rear armor plating is especially convincing; two questions
1) on that plating, what did you use for the 3d effect that looks like rust and/or vegetation?
2) not knowing that much about this particular tank, why is the turret shaped so peculiarly?
