Nice model Liborz. Were you able to keep the red and black assemblies seperate until painted? Some black washes around details, especially on the lower running gear, would help with the weathering. One would expect to see more grime and dirt here.

Hi Frank,
thanks for your comment. Well, I kept them separate, but it was not easy to complete them after painting. I want to start another one in the future, better detailed and in grey - yellow camo, to use both locomotives in a diorama I plan to build up, they should by use to move railway gun Dora, but there will be more things like Morser Karl, some wagons etc.
This is my very first weathering I have ever tried, so I will definitelly add some more in next weeks, when I could be a bit more experienced

Hi ed s. sarao
I show in my gallery finished kits, but you could find handy my build log of this locomotive, there are pictures from middle working.
building log
I would also recommend some upgrade sets, I used Eduard parts and there is the set from Voyager, can find on Ebay, they will bring you model much nicer.
There is one picture of its interior, which cannot be seen in gallery anyway.
And check the pictures from model building of my countryman Ondřej Nadrchal, I think this is another level of building kits, and I hope I will by one day at least 10% as good as this guy is.

It is written in Czech, but check the pictures!

Nice work! I do think it could use some weathering. Especially the red color.

Hey, that looks fantastic! There's a couple of pix there that look VERY 1:1. I'm glad ya left all the armor they'd load 'em up with during wartime. It's a beautiful engine. Nice cab details too.
If you do, indeed, do another one (or anyone who's thinking about doing one), please join the Stop, Look & Listen Campaign and join us in our attempts at cool rail subject modeling. It's the first Railroading campaign on KitMaster, so, you'll also be a part of History.
Again, NICE loco!

I have checked a couple very special things coming out in next weeks, and there was another one on the list of small Czech model manufacturing company, but I am not sure itīs still available. I love railway and I want to get the members of this site excited, when they will look at my build, it must be impressive, here never seen before. I have mentioned that model above is even my first one I tried weathering at, and I built just a few kits last year (not good ones, anyway), when I returned to building kits after maybe 25 years. Got many books, DVDs etc. to learn these new techniques and bring my result to higher level. I feel I have balls to be good and I will. So I do not know exactly what, but I know it is gonna be something special

Thatīs, what I know, and Thatīs, why I came here. Someone might want to see these:
railway kits
what you think about them?
Another WR 360 (C12 this time) is coming from Trumpeter soon, and they want to do gondola OMMR in spring time too.

Hi,
I used flat red XF-7 Tamiya acrylic paint (30%) with combination of a retarder (1%)and Sidolux (25%), which is a clear acrylic varnish(Czech made), used for care of a wood floors, and 44% Tamiya acrylic thinner. Painting is a bit glosy, ready for application of decals, and it is very abrasion resisting, I mean really very, it is almost impossible to cratch it. The final kit is painted again with Sidolux and Tamiya thinner 25% + 75% instead of any other varnish.

Thank you for your comments, guys,
I have tried to bring some washes on the chassis, and here are some pictures. I could have used probably more, however the real result looks much better than the pictures show.
