Here's some progress shots of my Vickers MkVIb from IMA Models that I am working on.
The kit isn't bad but is definately not a beginners model. The body tub was warped outwards on both sides which is a common problem with resin cast in one piece like this and it was difficult to straighten. The fenders that come with the kit are a little thick and lack detail so i've replaced them with some scratchbuilt ones. These still need bolt heads added and various fittings. The resin springs for the suspension in my kit were broken so I've replaced them with ones made from plastic rod and solder to act as the springs. I've replaced the exhaust with one closer in likeness to the one seen on the Vickers at the CFB Borden Museum in Canada. The air intake and exhaust route was scrachbuilt alos as the one in my kit was missing. I'm still working on various other replacement bits as well as needed. I'll be using replacement tracks instead of the resin ones. The drive wheels also need replacing as they came broken and also the placement for them doesn't match up.
Thanks for looking.
Sean

Sean,
You've got your hands full with that one. I did see a wrapped return wheel in the photo. I don't know if you caught it or not, figured I let you know.
Like the scratch muffler. Looking good so far.

First thanks for the feedback guys. Yes I di notice the roadwheel with that lovely flat spot on it. I'm planning on hiding it with the track.
The hull was my main concern. I had to adjust the fenders slightly so that they at least appear straight.
As for the interior, I'm probably going to leave the turret hatches open and not bother with the drivers compartment. There is much work needed up there to finish it off properly and I want to get this piece done withen a month or so, just to prove to myself I can do it. I completed one model last year and I'm feeling a little upset about that, I keep buying stuff but get no results from any of it.

Sean -
Nice work so far, like your springs and scratch muffler assy. Shame that several pieces were broken, makes it slow going to correct everything. Keep at it!
