Hi guy's I have been working on two Panther dio's recently a Late Panther A and Panther G/D.I would like to show you the first one which is based on this Late Panther A
& this is the dio
The kit was Dragons Premium Late A which is a great kit, well worth investing in another thats for sure. The Zimm is made from Milliput and was a learning curve for me but I did enjoy it,so much so I Zimmed another build straight after it.
All figures are Dragon apart from the Officer which is Tristar job.

The next Panther is based on these two pictures so it did actaully happen but the finish I have done is purely artistic liscence.
Now this picture clearly shows a D drum copula on what looks like a G chassis.
This photo was the clincher for me,Anyhoo the dio.............
This kit is Dragon's G smart kit and Dragons Kursk D turret, the turret didnt fit too well to begin with but I got there in the end.
In the end I decided to make it an SS unit hence the autumn camo. There is no real theme for the dio other than the Panther and Troops are discussing a co op manouvre.

I also applied Milliput Zimm to this build and the damage on the front glacis is from the first photo I showed.Again all figures are Dragon except they are Premium this time.
In this build was my first introduction to Miniart dio stuff. The wall took a lot of work but was worth it in the end and I will try more of their kits, especially in my KT build.
The plinth is still in its primer as I have been on the look out for a more hard wearing paint to protect it.Found some at the weekend so I should be able to finish both plinths very soon.
And that was what I was doing before I joined the site.I will update this thread with the finished pics when I can.
Thanks for looking

Dean you seem to be doing some very nice work, if you can take some better pictures you could always send 15 to 20 pictures with a small amount of text for an OD feature, or if you want to go all out submit a build feature to us here at Armorama. Information that you may not be aware of if you submit a build feature that is suitable for use or submit a review to James or Shaun it will give you access to the Contributors area of the site.

I'm having a little trouble visualizing how the gun barrel got between the two park fence pillars.
Even if the crew elevated the barrel over the end then lowered it into position, it would limit the traverse of the gun. Additionally the procedure would have to be reversed to get the tank out, wouldn't it?

Hi ,yup your absolutley correct the proceedure would have to be reversed.I have also made sure that the barrel could elevate over the pillars.I did this by raising the road slightly and sinking the wall into the base.Your guess is as good as mine about why they would do this but there are several possibilities.
Im going with the "setting up an ambush theory"
