Kit is built and ready for priming. I know that it's missing zimmerit but I decided against it. I purchased aftermarket zimm but it required a bit of cutting and mutilation of the kit to make it fit on top of the kit (I just didn't have the stomach for it). History buffs please forgive

Enjoy ..will post more as I progress!

A nice clean build Hermann. What do you have planned as far as a paint scheme?

The manual has a paint scheme for Nowe Koszary 1944 which is a basic dark yellow with vertical dark green cammo lines.

Don't worry about the zimmerit as long as your having fun thats all that matters.

Great build so far.
can i ask what aftermarket zimmerit you had for it?

Cheers

The Zim kit was made by Cavalier (the detail looks incredible). I think that I'll give it a try after gaining experience with more builds. Thanks for all the replies and words of encouragement.

primer and preshading applied ..now waiting to receive first coat of dark yellow....

On a side note...just received Academy's mid prod tiger with interior. What a difference between Dragon and Academy!! I'm spending soo much time sanding, filling and cleaning each part from Academy's kit!! I'm definitely sticking with Dragon.

Great progress Hermann, looking good. Hope your pre-shading works, last time I tried it I had the base coat too heavy and the pre-shading effect disappeared.

Thanks for sharing! Cheers -

I'm trying to decide on the colors to choose for the 3 cammo scheme. I've got the dark yellow chosen, now I need to choose the rest. What is a decent choice for the dark green and brown? I tend to spray paint primarily with Tamiya brand acrylics and at times I'll use ModelMasters. Thanks in advance for your input

Finally was able to find the time to paint the dark yellow and cammo scheme (decided on a two color scheme instead of the three). Wasn't too thrilled with the result of the cammo (my first attempt with modelmaster acrylic and turned out too runny), plus I've never been good at spray painting cammo. I'm going to try to soften and fade the cammo with the application of a dot walsh, after that I'll decide if I'll keep it or start from strach). I applied the decals to the bottom half and will apply those to the turret aftwards.

Next on the agenda: washes, paint tracks and tools, weathering and a flat coat. Thanks for watching and enjoy

Some more pix .. just finished applying a wash and painted some of the tools (still need to paint the tow cables and wood items). Developed a bit of silvering with the decals on the tool box (might just cover it up with a rag since I cant seem to get rid of it).

Wheels are ready, just need to paint the tracks and apply a final matt finish. Enjoy!!

Hermann,
I love your Tiger. And who cares if it doesn't have the zimm applied? Important is for YOU to have fun. Anyways, you have an awesome build there.
On another note, I see that you have a Breitling and a Timex or Casio. Do you collect watches?

Thanks for the reply ..I must say that it was a FUN build and might revisit it by adding the zimm aftermarket that I purchased. I'm also building Academy's mid prod Tiger with interior but it's going slowly due to the great amount of filling and sanding to most of it's parts (as I stated earlier, its a dated build and there big difference in the quality provided from Dragon). Is there a way to remedy the silvering after the fact once the decal has settled?

Nice progress Hermann! Like your camo pattern, tough one to do but you've got it matched up nice going from the hull to the turret. A filter and an oil dot wash should blend it nicely.

Regarding your silvering of the turret bin decal, did you apply a coat of future before applying the decal? If you gently prick the area with a pin or needle, then apply a bit of future you may be able to reduce the amount of silvering. Maybe soaking the decal in solvaset may lift it a little bit, don't know for sure.

The oil dot wash may cover the silvering up as well, just a guess though. Hopefully someone else will chime in if I'm off base with this.

Thanks for the progress photos. Keep at it!

Cheers -

Nice job so far, Hermann. Too bad on the silvering of the rear turret decal. It is quite obvious so I would also use the old trick of adding a telt shelter quarter over it.

Looking forward to see more
