I'm by no means an armor expert, especially Russian WWII armor but here is my build of the T34/85. I know it's not accurate for some of the bolt counters out there but I think it looks pretty good. I would however, like to hear some input and fixes that some of you out there could give me for my next attempt.

I still have alot of detailing and weathering to do to this yet so you may see some things I haven't quite finished. The camera certainly changes the color aspect, the rust is really red and such.

Thanks,

Dustan

Not bad for a first job.

Thing that comes out the most is tracks need a little dry brush of graphite to show steel color at the high points.
Maybe a little black at end of Exhausts.
Some pigments at the Bottom on road wheels and such.
Can't say nothing on the Figures as I do not do them.

Yes, I was still in the finishing stages of the tracks. Shortly after taking these pictures I added the Europe Dust from Mig and more soot to the rear as well as to the end of the main gun. I am not very good with painting figures at all. I am going to be pulling the track back off to finish them this weekend. Thanks for the pointers.

This is a great first model. Now as you go on start picking up tips from this website and others. Try different weathering techniques. Instead of painting the faces one color give it a go and try the ruddy washes, highlights, etc. You will be surprised at what you can do and then it will become second nature. Patience and trying not to get to the end to see the finished project will help and be worthwhile.

Hi Dustan not a bad finish to your first ever build the paint job is good very subtle not overly done the only slight criticism i could make would be the tracks (i take it they're the one piece vinyl ones) personnally the kit would be better with individual link ones but i suppose as it's your first the thought of putting together all of those links might seem daunting fear not the more you build the more your skills grow and when your feel more confident you can easily go back and add the indy links ( p.s . i'm not trying to pull you down just offering some helpful advice ) keep on building Dustan i'll keep my eyes peeled for any of your future builds

Thanks for the kind words! Actually they are metal tracks Fruil I believe. I need to take some new pictures, I've since weathered the tracks much better, put some dust over the model where it would be from running through the fields/roads. I'll post some updates later this weekend.

Thanks again!

Dustan
