Good day all -

Wanted to post a few pictures of Tamiya's recently completed 20mm Flakvierling, am building this along with the Sd.Kfz. 7/1 8 Ton half-track. Just have to finish weathering the tracks and will post some pics of the entire build.

Comments and critique welcome, thanks for looking!

Cheers -

Tim

Looks good! I've always liked the look of these quad guns, looks like it means business. Are you planning a crew for it?

It looks real good Tim. Am looking forward to the finished project. The old Tamiya kits DO look pretty good with a little time and effort. Tanx

I too like the paint, very much....especially the wood slats...nice touch.

I'm currently building one of these to go on top of an armored rail car to make a Flak Drasine. I'll be adding Eduard's PE and the Aber barrels...sooooo, thank you for posting the pictures; they've helped me in avoiding a mistake on the main structure!

Thanks for the comments guys, definitely appreciate you taking the time to post a reply.

Richard, not planning a crew for it, my figure skills are non-existent...but do need to try a few one of these days, they do make a model look better.

ivanhoe6, thanks for the kind words, hopefully by weeks end will have the tracks done then post some pictures of it all together. Tracks...my achilles heel!

Thanks John, painted the slats MM "wood", then with applying the washes some of the color went away and viola! A mistake that turned out pretty good.

Glad the build could help you Mike, looking forward to seeing what you've got working there. Have a weak spot for AA related builds, always enjoy seeing them!

Cheers all!

Looks great Tim!

I like the camo job and wood paint treatment. You really should try a figure or two. I know what you mean, figures are my weak point. Practice really works though, with your very nice painting skills apparent on the 20 mm, I can only imagine the figures will come along nicely as well. I recently came back from a few years off and my figure painting is the area I need most work on...not to mention with my almost 1/2 century old eyes (my reading glasses help!).

Keep up the great work!

Thanks fellas for the added comments, do appreciate it.

Mark, one of these days I'll try a figure or two, have enough of them collected to start something that's for sure. Thanks for the kind words, have a set of those reading/night driving glasses too...yet they're collecting dust somewhere...

Cheers -

Tim
