This is my panther A from Tamiya, I have not touched the wheels yet, I'll do that just before I place it. I have knocked together some waffen SS for the dio. Starting a building from scratch tomorrow. I'll post more pics if there is any interest in seeing them. Th figure is from the tamiya German tank crew at rest with some putty and mods. Earphone is off the one ear which was the modus operandi for german tankers.
I took the detailed parts off of a wrecked panther A by dragon I had, it had travelled a long way and had been trashed so it lives on here. This kit did not come with individually linked tacks, but I will be gumming and dusting heavily, so I didn't bother investing in them, and I put the ones that came with the kit on it.

Hi Rob -
Are you planning on setting this in a winter scene? The finish looks like it could be construed as a faded, well worn whitewash scheme. Not too sure what you were going after. It's definitely weathered very much, if it's just dusty with accumulated dirt, may want to apply some streaking to the turret and hull sides, as the rain would have washed some of the dirt away on the vertical surfaces.
Your tank commander looks pretty good, nice touch with the earphones being off to one side, adds character to it!
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing your diorama! Cheers -
Tim

The camera actually makes it alot more white than it is.... I am likely going to do a gravel road in Caen type of thing. Definately going for a battle hardened look. I need a new camera. lol.
I have been watching some of the video on youtube from the history channel, and noticed that the german armor in combat was dusty and dirty.
I think I am going to oil wash it in a darker burnt umber combo to cut down on the whiteness.

I am planning on WaffenSS for the dio. I have some made from various kits, and making more.
I am looking at the model right now, and I don't know if I want to wash it in oil or not. These pics are showing alot of flash, which is showing white.

OK Update. Here is the beginning of the dio, I have polished off the panther, made a few changes. One major change is that I have decided on using my waffen elsewhere, so I am am changing it to a wooded scene. So I am plucking and creating the figs from a few different sources. Here is the Panther as I placed it (roughly), and my first completed fig.
