Hi,

I am collecting resources for a couple of future Leopard C1 builds. I was wondering if anyone had photos of the C1 in Bosnia and Kosovo that they would be willing to share?

Thanks for your help!

Here is a link to C1 MEXAS images from Kosovo.

http://www.canuckster.com/links.asp?id=14967

Go to the Graphics area....and then to the Member's photos....there is a gallery of a C1 turret lift in Kosovo.

There were only 5 Leopard C1s sent to Kosovo.

There were only 2 Leopard C1s sent to Bosnia with IFOR....there are not many images. They were "late" version Leopard C1s.....with all the armour mounts for the MEXAS attached to the hull and turret but the MEXAS was not mounted.....they also did not have the add-on turret bin attached. They were sent with a set of mine rollers and a mine plow. They were both in the three colour NATO cam.

If you have questions shout them out.

Jason,

Thanks for the info. Your help is much appreciated as always.

On a somewhat related topic, can you suggest an appropriate kit for a mineroller or mine plow that would be suitable for either the Leopard C1 or C2?

Thanks again,

Duncan

There is no kit for the mine roller or the mine plow for the Leopard 1.

For the mine plow you would have to start with a Dragon or Tamiya or Trumpeter mine plow and heavily modify it......reduce the width by rebuilding each plow bank by shortening the entire system to only 5 teeth instead of 6. You also need to entirely rebuild the frame from tubular to square.

For the mine rollers the best starting point is the Academy mine rollers from the Merkave or Magach kit.....and then the entire hull mount needs to be scratchbuilt.

I will be building a master for the roller mount....sometime in the future.

Harald,

Thanks for taking the time to post all of those links. There were more than a few that I had not seen before.

Cheers,
